  1. I've not seen a single thing this year and now that the final is tomorrow, I surprisingly feel nothing about the idea of not watching it? I thought I'd get major FOMO or something but aside from feeling just gutted, angry and sad that I won't be able to enjoy it, I actually feel nothing about missing it. Also, the coverage overall seems fairly muted this year. Just me? I've stayed away from as much as I can (Delta and the UK entries have been listened to once or twice but that's it). It's so upsetting that it's come down to this. </3 I really hope it's affected in a huge way that they HAVE to take notice of.
  2. Also what's the reason? I mean, slay ofc but it seems a bit random? I really wish 'In My Blood' and 'Mercy' were the ones benefiting the most though </3
  3. 33 (without Drake's album bombs) is a great start for Gracie, no?
  4. Ah yes. Apologies. But it's still one of the best from that album!
  5. 04: Before You Break My Heart [8.88] THAT'S SHOWBIZ BABY!: Henessy Lake (11); Scene, 777666jason, Mr. C Joel, Josh!, starbaker, PaddingtonJames & Calum (10) THAT'S NOT SHOWBIZ HUN!: Lukuzz (06.5) At number 4 is a song that really started to take off during album release week and largely in part due to its fantastic visualiser, 'Before You Break My Heart'. The song samples The Supremes - Stop! In the Name of Love and JADE has gone on record to say that she actually makes little to nothing from this track due to how much it cost to sample the song... but it paid off for her. One of the best examples of how to use a sample imo. The song has a really gorgeous message which is essentially a love letter to her inner child who basically begs her not to forget her past and get too lost in the industry etc.. The video was the absolute cherry on top in which her niece plays young Jade as she is there with Jade through her daily life in her hometown and singing to her as a reminder to not forget about her. It's such a brilliant concept for a song and video. Excellent. The song would have been a huge chart hit if the label capitalised properly! It even had a Tik Tok trend of people using the hook to show themselves before they post their younger selves.
  6. It's a 9 for me because I'm not really that "disco" sound kind of guy! But I do think this excels at doing that sound, which is why it's not a low score for me. It's great at what it does. <3 EDIT: I know you weren't asking for an explanation lmao. I just wanted to get it out there as to why it's not a "10" for me
  7. A fave from 'folklore' for me! Should've been more than a bonus!
  8. Should be 20 x Platinum by now tbh!
  9. This is all so exciting!!! But I need them to put their money where their mouth is and INVEST TF OUTTA HER for this era! Give her everything. GLOBALLY!

    😭😭😭
  11. Fun fact: @152chris scores got 'Fantasy' to jump from 7th to 5th!
  12. 05: Fantasy [8.84] THAT'S SHOWBIZ BABY!: 152chris (11); Josh!, Juranamo, blacksquare, starbaker, -Jay-, RyanFM & HausofMayhem (10) THAT'S NOT SHOWBIZ HUN!: shadow2009 (06) Into the top 5 we go and falling at this stage is the 2nd single, 'Fantasy'! A song that I immediately loved from the first listen as it felt quite Jessie Ware but with a JADE, chaotic pop twist. I love the meaning of the song and how it's about feeling liberation in yourself, sexually. She perfectly tows the line between being pure filth but radio/consumer friendly! It's such a great song. The video is over hated! The first half could do with a bit more meat to it for where the story actually ends up, sure, but I love the throwback to 60's/70's music performances and that being the set up for her Carrie inspired finale. It cracks me up when she's drenched in the blood and is just staring off camera and ad-libbing! LMAO. SO good. The beauty of this song though? LIVE. It's absolutely BRILLIANT live and translates perfectly.
  13. Can we all please stop giving ‘Fantasy’ a whack?
  14. I think she’s said a few times that ‘Fantasy’ is her favourite! So she would actually disagree with you! Lol.
  15. Your top 5 (Alphabetically): Angel of My Dreams Before You Break My Heart Fantasy FUFN Plastic Box One of these is the winner and the other 4 are tied with the rest of the album for 2nd!
  16. 06: Silent Disco [8.75] (One 11 + 7 10's) THAT'S SHOWBIZ BABY!: starbaker (11); Henessy Lake, 777666jason, Mr. C Joel, Lukuzz, *Tim, Calum & Tafty (10) THAT'S NOT SHOWBIZ HUN!: 152chris (05) Falling just short of the top 5 and it is quite a shock tbh. 'Silent Disco' is the big, pure pop power ballad moment of the album that showcases Jade's wonderful vocals and serves as the standard versions album closer. I am a big sucker for a big ballad moment anyway, but this song... it's genuinely one of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard. It's been an instant hit for me right from the very first listen, however, the "visualiser" really elevates it to that next level! It's so cute and serves the song PERFECTLY! Speaking of perfection, JADE really gives this song THE moment of her tour where she sings it from the balcony of the venue in true "musical theatre" fashion and quite 'Evita'-esque! Just stunning. I can't speak highly enough of this song in all honesty. Just stunning and really pleased that it managed to get as high as 6th!

No. I disagree. Comparing pre-digital to post-digital is a bit of a moot point. Pre-digital the only way to access/own the song was to buy it physically. Which meant stock limitations. There was many a time where I wanted to buy a single but couldn’t due to it being out of stock or even discontinued after a certain amount of time! So we had to buy it quick and thus not allowing much room for songs to grow after the initial first couple of weeks or so.
  18. My entries for the Bop Idol's have mainly been songs I have personally loved and just wanted to share and see how they do etc... The Bop Idol's cover a period of my life where I was discovering my own tastes in music and following artists and bands closely etc.. so it's nice to get some under appreciated gems thrown out there! As long as a couple of people discover them and appreciate them, I don't care *too* much about where I finish (ofc the higher the better etc..)
  19. 07: IT girl [8.75] (One 11 + 5 10's) THAT'S SHOWBIZ BABY!: 7776666jason (11); Scene, Henessy Lake, Mr. C Joel, Josh! & Juranamo (10) THAT'S NOT SHOWBIZ HUN!: Billy. (06) Number 7 we see our last tie! 'IT girl' loses out on having fewer 10's! Random observation, all 6 highest score voters for this were the first 6 rates received. The track that put fans in hysteria about the album title being called "That's Showbiz, Baby!" after the song uses it in the beautifully melodic hook & ending the video with it! The "should have been a proper single"! Once the new year kicked in, fans wanted this as a proper single and not just a promo track. It got playlisted at Radio 1, but it was still restricted with it's release and like they didn't plan for it to actually become anything more than a promo track. It was a weird release and I just wish they went ALL IN with it. It's such a great, knowing your worth, ballsy track! It hits so hard and really helped position her as one of the most exciting artists out there. It's so powerful and sassy. It's excellent. An excellent hype track! The added guitars to this in her live sets sound incredible!

I actually don’t disagree with you. But we can make a couple of exceptions!

Seeing as it (rightfully) doesn't have a thread on this forum, I have to share this Pitchfork Tweet about CB's newest album because it's genuinely one of the funniest things I've seen! LMAOOOOOOOOO

The US report before finals are collated. They report them based on estimations and the “final numbers” are adjusted by Monday/Tuesday (but they’re never really that much different!) UK box office reports are done on actuals hence why they always release on a Monday afternoon/evening (Tuesdays if it’s bank holiday etc..) to include Previews + the Friday-Sunday tracking period. (I believe!)
  23. I’m just so so happy I got Silent Disco tbh! (Mashed up with Plastic Box no less!!!)
