People's Republic of Jester (PRoJ)

FLAG

COUNTRY MAP

HISTORY

An island between 3 continents but aligned to Orchidia, PRoJ has had a tumultuous history.

There was an ancient Stone Age colony on the island dating to before the great BJSC world ice age and this is evident in the names of the older towns of Etxelur and Sarum, plus the establishment of ancient dykes to keep out the rising sea levels. This civilisation was repressed when the island was taken over by pirates in the 15th century.

First established in its modern form the 15th century by rogue pirates, it soon flourished as a strong trading port due to it's strategic position between 3 continents and the proximity to the ancient territory of Kopecka (there is an ancient causeway to this territory which flooded in ancient times). The pirate King, Colm I was crowned as the monarch of Jester's Kingdom in the year 1486 and his dynasty ruled for nearly 500 years. Following years of descent by the lower classes comprising the descendants of the original pre 15th century population an peaceful revolution took place on 28 January 1976 and the Peoples Republic of Jester (later changed to PRoJ) was born allowing the island to become a developed country and leaving years of totalitarianism behind.

A timely new thread in light of your recent success, I guess it was all about finding the right *sound*. Will you be sending Romanian dance every month from this point onwards? ohmy.gif

Not sure, Tom and I were discussing the same on Sunday. I think I will see how I go this time and judge then (having said that, I already have my next entry lined up!).

I am drawing a map of my country now and will scan it in and post it. I just need a kind soul to make me a new flag!

Well it's good to have a niche, I've pretty much resigned myself to the fact that I send Swedish artists more than half of the time laugh.gif

I was eyeing up some Swedish tracks last night on youtube actually, but was drawn back towards Romania!

There's 3 or 4 decent new Romanian dance tracks on the new Clubland compilation if you're ever stuck for ideas. Or any dance compilation these days to be fair! They're a bit of a driving force in the genre recently it would seem!

Noticed that BaNG's song for XXXV is on Clubland 19 ohmy.gif Lonely Heart too. OK it's a shit remix but at least it's finally on iTunes.

Anyway welcome back PRoJ, as near-neighbours and staunch supporters of your entries Numayania is glad that it looks like your time has finally come wub.gif

Indeed they both are! The summer Clubland's are always FAR better than their winter counterparts for some reason. More full of present and future Eurohits and less full of crap dance covers. I guess it makes sense, Europe only ever seems to get a foothold in the UK charts in the summer months, come winter and it's all X Factor...

The remix of Lonely Heart isn't that bad actually, but the remix of Me & My Microphone on there is DIRE. 7 minutes long and ripped the heart out of the song :/

I drew myself an PRoJ map today (yes, drew using colour pencils and verything!) while bored at my parents house - I will scan it in at work on Monday and upload it.
