So I finally got around to watching the pilot. VERY impressed. I feel like this has appeal so much broader than any other new NBC drama for years. It's fun, the plot moves at lightning pace, and there are flashes of brilliance which elevate above network TV fare and give it more of a cable feel. Obviously James Spader is absolutely killing it, he utterly owns this show. There are also a few flaws... plot holes and over use of clichés (Redington jumps from a hospital window, survives! Of course there was no guard in his room!), and maybe the lead girl has not quite found her footing yet, although I like her. Overall though a pretty exciting pilot which has me anticipatign the rest of the series after vowign not to commit to anything new this year.

Jark says... A-

What's this about? :)

This is the first pilot drama from the broadcasts I have given a watch (Sleepy Hollow next on the list!). Rather impressed with the Pilot. It moved at a super fast pace and I'm unclear on the motives of James Spader (although I guess that's kinda the point???). I'm interested to see where this goes, especially with the reveal at the end of the Pilot!

SHIELD better be on there, by far the best new show of the season (imo).

I do love this too though, despite it being borderline retarded at points. I love that the FBI just let him ROAM FREE without impunity and also Ressler is a GRADE A TWAT and Elizabeth should basically just stand there looking pretty rather than spouting off some badly written pile of crap about God only knows. But yeah James Spader is brilliant, kind of feels like he's on auto-pilot but he definitely lifts the show above general mediocrity/procedural blandorama.

Not sure whether to give SHIELD a watch or not. Not heard brilliant things about it. I probably will at some point, but I've heard a lot of negative things about it which is putting me off.

I went in not expecting it to be much like the movies and came out very impressed, but it helps that I'm a BIG Whedon fan anyway and he really does characters like nobody else, even now by episode 4 they are pretty well fleshed out.
One of the best new shows on TV at the moment gets better and better each week, well impressed. James Spader just draws the series out for me.

Liked the pilot, but haven't watched any others yet.

I really hope it's a more interesting plot than the fact he's her father or something, which I suspected immediately.

I don't think he's her father, but he must have some major connection to her.

Must say I'm up to date now and I'm thoroughly hooked. The pacing is excellent. I thought they might drag out said storyline for so long, but I'm glad to see it looks like it is about to come to a head.

This is actually starting to get really really great and I'm glad for NBC that it is showing in the ratings.
