Good to see he didn't completely confine Bad & Shot Me Down to the scrap pile.

I will be interested to hear this. I've only liked lovers on the sun so far from this era.

Heard on the radio today that his album will feature a collaboration with Emeli Sande.

'Dangerous' and 'Lovers on the Sun' are pretty good, especially the former.
YES at him scrapping 'Bad' and 'Shot Me Down' from the normal tracklist. Two enormous piles of shit which, apparently, he doesn't even like himself. The tracklist is on Wiki and apparently there's a collab with Ms. Dynamite as well. I'm definitely gonna give this album a proper listen. |

'Lovers on the Sun' and 'Dangerous' are the piles of shit tho, both 'Shot Me Down' and 'Bad' were so promising and such a nice change up in sound, they brought hope that he wouldn't go all generic on us again but it seems he's had a change of heart commerciala

How is 'Shot Me Down' not generic, may I ask?

How is 'Shot Me Down' not generic, may I ask? It doesn't sound like anything Guetta has done before, it's perhaps only generic in the sense that it resembles a Martin Garrix-type production which was nonetheless pulled off really well imo. From what I've seen when 'Shot Me Down' and 'Bad' play in a club people actually jam, whereas when 'Lovers on the Sun' plays everyone just stands and awkwardly look at each other. It's as if he'd rather just please radio and sell-out with songs like 'Dangerous' and 'Lovers on the Sun' and further alienate himself from his original fanbase |

'Bad' and 'Shot Me Down' are so much more generic than the other two (especially 'Dangerous') and they are the sell-outs 'cause they are much further from his original sound. The club argument is basically selling that point of view. What is his ''original'' fanbase anyway? He made music long before he went big with 'When Love Takes Over' (or even 'Love Is Gone') and I'd be extremely surprised if his original fanbase would rather hear 'Bad' than 'Dangerous'. |

Lovers On The Sun is by far the most generic don't think anyone could argue that. Shot Me Down I can see the argument with but Bad definitely not so. Dangerous is completely the opposite of generic and such a refreshing track to hear from him.
I love all of them bar Lovers On The Sun, which typically is the one that performs best commerically. |

You can't get anymore more Guetta generic than 'Lovers on the Sun', and 'Dangerous' is hardly as different as some posters make it out to be, especially with a flash in the pan generic vocalist like Sam Martin. 'Bad' and 'Shot Me Down' are not generic in the sense that they were not put out to please radio, they are much more heavier in sound, a first for him since a few songs from the One Love era. By fanbase I mean people who buy on Beatport, vote in the DJ rankings, go to dance festivals, Tomorrowland et al - not people who lap everything that's in the UK Top 40. |

His fanbase is precisely the kind of people who would lap up everything that's in the UK top40, especially when it comes to dance music.
And even club-oriented songs like 'Bad' and 'Shot Me Down' were both in the UK top 40. The latter was a top5 hit. But even so, I don't think the people who would go to dance festivals and vote in DJ magazines are all that different from the kind of people who ''lap up the top40'' 'cause the DJs that perform on those big festivals and that end up on top in DJ contests are those who are ''in'' and score hits. David Guetta has, since at least 2006, always made songs that are chopped up and ready for the charts to eat up. 'Bad' and 'Shot Me Down', despite ending up there as well, were targeted more toward the club sound which is very much in right now (see Garrix, Hardwell, etc.), so that's why I think he's selling out. I will agree that 'Lovers on the Sun' is indeed generic. I was probably clouded by my own opinion ('cause I actually like that one), but it basically is an Avicii clone. |

Birdy?
Bebe Rexha, Nicki, more Sia, Emeli and The Script though *.* This album is a LOT more promising now after an awful start to the era. |
