After a successful first series, the Musketeers returns for a second series next Friday, in the absence of Peter Capaldi who quit the series after he got the role of Dr. Who, Hustle star Marc Warren replaces him as Cardinal Comte De Rochefort, with the rest of the regular cast.

This needs to be shifted to the weekend its getting bashed around with the FA Cup draw, before they kill the series off, otherwise people will start to turn off.

With them killing off Atlantis, maybe this would be better as the Saturday post-Strictly offering after Doctor Who finishes.

It's confirmed to be returning for a third series which will be co-funded by BBC America and BBC Worldwide, like the previous two series have been.

I'm guessing that without the financial backing, it would have been cancelled!

Very glad this has been renewed! Was beginning to lose faith that it'd be recommissioned, but this is great news! biggrin.gif (not that I've watched any of series 2, am waiting for the Blu-Ray kink.gif)
