One Direction is officially on hiatus and of course, the current four members of the band are ready to start his own musical journeys.

The first is Harry Styles, who has been working in some solo tracks during this year and his anticipated solo debut is expected to be released sometime in 2016 via Syco and Columbia Records.

For now, we know Harry has worked with English multi-platinum-selling songwriter, record producer, singer and composer Gary Go.

Confirmed/Recorded/Registered tracks:

Already Home | Harry Styles, Gary Go & John McDaid

Coco | Harry Styles, Gary Go & John McDaid

This site is normally reliable so if that's true, we could be less than a year away from Harry's solo music! :cheer: Really excited although I shouldn't get my hopes up in case it doesn't materialise :kink: Thought I'd make a thread anyway to get discussion going! Some interesting names in the songwriting credits there.

I've seen some of this titles before in 2013/2014? And the Gary Lightbody track was written for One Direction.
Don't forget the Meghan Trainor duet she held off for her 2nd album... timing to fit Harry being solo?

I thought it was well-known that all of the boys went off to do writing sessions with other artists and then bring them back to the table to see what could fit (admittedly, I think the majority of these were scrapped bar the safe choices!). Also sure Juicy J said he would be releasing his stuff with Liam shortly too.

What's interesting with at least some of these though is that the performer is listed as Harry Styles, not as One Direction or anything else.
Already Home is one that has been knocked around before I think, perhaps he just decided some of the songs suited him better as a soloist rather than giving them to the band. Nonetheless, I am so excited right now, I can't even :yahoo:

Harry Styles's solo music will 'blow the socks off the world', according to Snow Patrol's Johnny McDaid

19 MAY 2016

BY SAM WARNER

We should be getting pretty excited about Harry Styles's solo music, if Snow Patrol's Johnny McDaid's word is anything to go by.

The One Direction star fuelled speculation about a solo career after registering tracks last year, and apparently his music is so good it will "blow the socks off the world".

"I've been friends with Harry for a long time, and we've written together a lot," the musician told PA.

He described Styles as "a really prolific artist and a super-talented guy", adding: "He's really authentic and he has an incredible voice, so we've been writing a lot of songs. We've been writing songs for years together.

"I'm really excited by the way he's sounding at the minute, he's such a talent. I think the world is going to be really shocked at what he comes up with."

Asked whether we should expect new songs soon, McDaid answered: "I don't know about soon, I don't know how long that is.

"But I would imagine that Harry would come up with something that's going to be pretty special, and from what I've heard, it'll blow the socks off the world."

McDaid also admitted that they "do the guerrilla thing" in their working relationship.

"I've never been in a studio with Harry, we tend to just hang out at his house or mine, or we'll meet somewhere and set up in a living room," he went on.

"It's just the way he likes to do it and the way I like to do it, so it means that we can order takeaway and kick up ideas."

Jay Z recently admitted that he wanted to work with Styles and make him "the biggest artist in the world".

"Blow the socks off the world" - after how much Zayn's music career was hyped, this sort of hyperbole really isn't that effective.

I think what helps with Harry is that he doesn't seem to be trying to hugely distance himself from 1D or paint himself as a """"real"""" artist, so hopefully the material ends up better than what Zayn put out!
Yeah I see Harry sticking close to the late 1D sound, so should slay :cheer:

That's really nice to hear, good words from Simon! Glad the deal is something that suits him, I really can't wait for what he puts out.
