Posted January 23, 20223 yr We will be looking at each Gaga era over the next few weeks and letting YOU become a Little Manager! In this thread, discuss how you would've managed the era. Which singles would you have released, what songs would've received music videos, any promo opportunities you could utilise? Think as widely or as briefly as you wish! What would be your ideal singles run for this era? Here is how Gaga's team did it: 1st single: Bad Romance 2nd single: Telephone 3rd single: Alejandro 4th single: Dance in the Dark (in France and Russia) Would you have done anything differently? http://www.buzzjack.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=251740
January 23, 20223 yr Author I mean looking back the era was GIGANTIC and had so much perfection behind it. Just one massive, massive change and that is having Dance in the Dark as a full, global single. It's her best ever song! 1st single: Bad Romance 2nd single: Telephone 3rd single: Dance in the Dark 4th single: Alejandro :snif: imagine! I wouldn't change ANYthing in terms of the promo, the music videos etc. Legendary.
January 23, 20223 yr This might be controversial opinion, but not so sure if DITD would've worked as a single?
January 23, 20223 yr It wouldn't have. This should have been her Thriller HALLOWEEN era - imagine it!!! She and Katy could have startwd their rivalry earlier over the Queen of Halloween title. Hwre's how it should have gone (and Adelita will agree): 1. Bad Romance 2. Telephone 3. Alejandro 4. Monster (released around Halloween) 5. Teeth (released a year later for the next Halloween) Done!
January 23, 20223 yr Author DITD was a MUST  Omg Monster a single too, i'd be here for it. She could've MILKED THIS ERA :snif:
January 23, 20223 yr DITD could have been a Halloween promo single alongside Teeth, a year after the main era I guess...
January 24, 20223 yr Don't be ridiculous! A Halloween staple where? On your own speakers? Well, yes!! I played it a few times through my tall speakers during my Halloween party!!! Everyone LIVES the song for Halloween, just like Monster, ask anyone!
January 24, 20223 yr Author TEETH IS GETTING RERELEASED!!!! TEETH IS GETTING RERELEASED!!! JUST THOUGHT YOU ALL SHOULD KNOW! #teethtimelesssong #backto#1singles+howevermanyInterscopegivesher
January 25, 20223 yr I don't think Dance In The Dark would've done great as a single either, as much as I love it. It gives me STRONG fan favourite feels, it might have done a Marry The Night at most but feels a bit too ~serious for Gaga at this point IMO, without being a straight up ballad which she may have succeeded with if there was a good enough one. All the singles from this era may have been a bit dark but they definitely still had the sense of fun everyone wanted from her.
January 25, 20223 yr As this is an EP and she was in the middle of world tour most of the time, I think the campaign was pretty much spot on. I know Monster is a halloween staple now but it might not have worked as single in 2010 when streaming wasn't a thing yet. The Monster Ball tour went on from November 2009 to May 2011 and she needed time to plan for Born This Way era too... Gosh, she worked HARD and it was a miracle we got 3 singles and videos of such high quality.
January 25, 20223 yr Author Yeah those are all valid points. For an EP we were GIVEN SO MUCH and fed for months. I am glad we had a break before Born This Way started too because the hype in the wait for Born This Way single was unlike anything I've ever experienced before!
January 25, 20223 yr The hype for this was insane! I mentioned it before, but I remember clearly on the day The Fame Monster was released, queueing outside the CD store in the early hours of the morning afraid it would sell out before I could hear it They handled this era perfectly as well. The music videos in particular had everyone obsessed and talking about Gaga. What a time to be alive. I prefer Dance in the Dark and Monster over Telephone, but that was the better single choice obviously. I think Monster could have been a decent sized hit as a 4th single with a great music video though.
