Joel has confirmed that he has signed an album deal, but that it's likely to come out next year. Seeing as WWYD is already the 7th single, it really is going to be like a greatest hits. :lol:

I have signed an album deal with Atlantic! So I'm working towards it. I don't think this year, but I would love it for next year. You know me as well, I want to make sure it's done properly. I'm going to drive everyone I work with insane.

I think I would have preferred him to have released an album now. If it gets to a place where we've already heard 80% of the album, then what's really the point?

It has worked for both Jax Jones and Becky Hill so I don't see why it wouldn't work for Joel either. But, given it's not out until next year I'll be surprised if tracks like Sorry, Lonely etc feature on it in any capacity other than a bonus track/disc. I know Sigma have gone down this route including singles from 2016 onwards in their upcoming album but Joel has more prominence than they do now to put out some new stuff to cater to the fans.

I hope his pictured song/project with Becky Hill gets a Summer release and not tacked onto the album. Wasn’t he also pictured in a studio with Jess Glynne a long time ago too? I reckon he’s probably sitting on a completed album already.

I'm fairly sure the song made with Jess Glynne was I Wish. Joel was in the studio with Tom Grennan last year as well so he must already have a few songs nearly ready to go.
