June 16, 20232 yr I loved this era but the videos weren't really serving what I would have liked them to. 6 - Scared of the Dark - Understandably it's budget, and there's nothing particularly remarkable about how it looks or what happens. The strongest point of the video is the dance routine for the chorus, it screams "Steps are back!" and I appreciate it for that. 5 - Story of a Heart - Cute concept with them reminiscing over "the first time around", but otherwise it's nothing special. The director really did Lisa dirty with this one too, they should have asked her to do another take. 7 - Neon Blue - Uplifting and fun energy with the dancing in the club scenes, it matches the song. I wasn't as wild about the attempts of including storylines with the extras. I get what they were going for but... meh. 5 - Dancing with a Broken Heart - Style over substance, I'd say. They're going for epic but what is really happening? The end result is average. Also, ending with a "to be continued" and not continuing it in any subsequent videos... well, to be fair, it didn't need continuing. Annoying!
