  1. What's new in this club
  2. Strangely the Say You'll Be There performance made me think they could have done SYBT after Holler in the 2019 tour, with those harder suits/costumes. It would have extended that act and take advantage of the vibe which was so differnt from the rest of the show.
  3. Emma and Mel B haven taken part in a South Korean TV show called KPOPED where they have partnered with KPop band ITZY to rework two Spice Girls classics with a Kpop twist: Wannabe and Say You'll Be There. The episode with them is now live on Apple TV, but you can watch the two performances below. There's a link somewhere out there for the full episode but I cant find it... Both songs sound great and will be released on streaming platforms this coming friday 5th September. Will you be buying it??? Don't know if these still classify as 'Spice Girls official releases' or if it will be credited as Emma and Mel B on streaming platforms, but they are being presented here as 'ITZY and the Spice Girls' so we shall see... Nonetheless, we have a couple of new tracks to download this week ladies, let's get to it! Which one is your favourite of the two? I think I prefer Say You'll Be There for now
  4. It was such a idiotic decision to not release that live album and Never Give Up on The Good Times...... They would have been on a new high! Imagine having a brand new live album of the Spice World Stadium tour at Wembley for Christmas 1998! It would have sold so well...
  5. Thanks! Do you have the list?
  6. @Babyboy You might want to update the thread. When You're Gone went Gold in Denmark and Platinum in New Zealand. Several Spice Girls singles have also been recently certified in New Zealand.
  7. Oh yes… that was terrible. I barely even recognised the song 🙈😂
  8. 'I Turn To You' makes an appearance today in my 2000s #ThrowbackThursday edition.
  9. @Spiceboy Glad to hear you had a good time! The two covers were Gypsy Woman and Touch Me. But how come you didn't mention their joint rendition of Say You'll Be There?
  10. Saw Melanie supporting Bryan Adams yesterday in Warwick. Was an interesting experience seeing her at an event where it wasn’t her own gig with her own fans. She definitely had to work harder to get reactions from the crowd but by the end she got really good cheers. She told a few stories of Bryan Adams, how he gave her the confidence to have a go at doing it on her own and she owes him a lot for that. About the first time she met him on TOTP “Geri was sat on his knee while Mel B was stroking his hair. Do you think he was scared? Was he f***! He is one of the only men who wasn’t scared of the Spice Girls!” 🤣 She came back ok during his stint and did 2 songs “the only thing that looks good on me is you” and “when you’re gone” and at the end Bryan walked her down the catwalk with her arm held up and bowed with her. He didn’t speak much during his gig but he did say how fantastic she was which was lovely. She got a massive cheer when she came on with him and everyone was filming when you’re gone (which was a more stripped back version). Setlist from what I can remember: Anymore A cover? Overload Never be the same again Another cover? Going down Northern star (this was a slowed down acoustic performance and got the best reaction of her set) Spice up your life 2 become 1 Who do you think you are I turn to you I may have forgotten a song or two but it was only a 35mins set (which was a tad disappointing). The covers were club songs which my husband was familiar with but I wasn’t. I was kind of hoping she would do more Northern Star and Beautiful Intentions stuff and lean into the rockier stuff with this crowd. They received Going down and Northern star the best (and the spice girls stuff although SUYL didn’t go down well the crowd were a bit meh at that one although she was trying to get the crowd to sing along and do the SPICE UP YOUR LIFE bits - it doesn’t work as a solo song I don’t think).
  11. I have to admit I'm really enjoying her on The Voice!
  12. I didnt know a live album was planned back then, huge pitty it didnt go ahead as it would have done well for them and likely to have given them another number 1 album. I still think she should have released a live album after the last tour, another missed opportunity.
  13. Maybe none of those songs made it...
  14. Mel C really gave her all to their 1997 Brits Performance. I mean, I know the press focused on Geri and her Union Jack, but Mel C ate!
  15. Also, some of you suggested Love Thing as the final single from Spice but I never really saw it as a single because it sounds like the brainchild between Wannabe and Say You'll Be There... In a way, it was already threaded territory whereas the previous singles all sounded more different from each other. I know it was rumoured to be the prefered single from Virgin but by the time they had released 4 singles, it was a type of sound that was best to keep in the album, imo... I also think that Step To Me is another song that threads similar ground to Wannabe, Say You'll Be There and Love Thing, so in a way it made sense not to have it in the album. Even Say You'll Be There had initially a rap section which I am glad it was removed, as it would have made the whole Spice-sound very formulaic - pop anthems with r'n'b sounds about female empowerment, each girl gets a verse and the bridge is a rap led by Mel B. It would have been too much imo, so I am glad they changed things up a bit. (although I do think it could have been a single or at least an album track for Spiceworld). It is kind of like the Tomorrow of Free Me, for me. It sounds like Maybe and I'll Be There combined. A great album track but threading too similar territory to stand on its own. So it made sense for her to perform it on TV shows to further point towards the album, but as a single, it would have faltered and she needed to change it up...
  16. still... it was controversial for sure lol but not sure it really helped her at the time. she was wise to corse-correct
  17. Goin' Down video being notable enough to have French and Saunders do a skit of it though Iconic x
  18. Totally agree that Goin Down shouldnt have been a single... I thought it was plain embarrasing lol she might like her rock music but she sounded awful in it, the song itself sounds like a try-hard... If she wanted to do a rock-start, she could have picked the better rock songs: either Ga Ga or Suddenly Monday. Im not sure on Go! actually... it is a great album opener but I don't think it would have been a great single. I think she should have gone with Northern Star as the lead single.
  19. Goin' Down's Spotify plays kind of prove it shouldn't have been a single. It hasn't crossed the million mark yet while other songs such as Dear Life, If That Were Me and On The Horizon has. Go would have made for a better lead single. It's much more radio friendly and also works as a statement of leaving the group.
  20. My Spice holy trinity is 'Viva Forever', 'Spice Up Your Life' and 'Say You'll Be There' so 2/3 ain't bad 🙌
  21. Viva Forever 2 Become 1 Say You'll Be There Stop Goodbye Too Much Wannabe Spice Up Your Life Mama Who Do You Think You Are Holler Let Love Lead The Way Headlines Sorry Holler, I didn't like the post 90s-material much sadly. The top five are all-time favourite songs.
  22. I am the devil twink who runs this site and I vote no.... even thought it is taking every inch of my power to say it! 😂
  23. 😑 @Jay or @Spiceboy , whichever one of you devil twinks now runs this site, please come and block Last Dreamer for crimes against taste
  24. Worst single - Viva Forever Best single - "Let Love Lead The Way" or "Too Much"
