The more details we learn about this, the more convinced I become that this was all for the best.

Oh they are back on Sunday during the chart show. Nothing much new there.
Basically a condensed version of the R1 interview. I love Jade's personality. :)
She said: "It's happy days now and there will definitely be more Sugababes after this album."

Nice to know Amelle expects Jade to last a long time :heehee:

As if

"More Sugababes" doesn't necessary mean "more Jade", we should know by now. It doesn't even mean more Amelle, we could get a brand new line up next year, who knows!

^ Chris, whenever we can be arsed. I.e. when we make a new one.

MOST rock and pop stars would celebrate a new deal by sprinkling cocaine on their cornflakes or cracking open a magnum of champagne.

But when JADE EWEN finally got to meet her new SUGABABES bandmates AMELLE BERRABAH and HEIDI RANGE last Sunday they only had time for a round of toast.

Jade said: "It was like a blind date. We were all nervous and everyone was a bit over-polite.

"We celebrated with a round of toast. It wasn't very glamorous. Champagne gives me headaches."

Jade's life changed forever with a knock on the door last week and an invitation to replace KEISHA BUCHANAN.

She filled me in on all the Sugas' behind-the-scenes shenanigans during an exclusive chat to celebrate her new job.

Jade said: "I'm still in a state of shock because it was so unexpected. It's nuts but it's wicked."

Last September she had given herself just one more year to pursue her dream of pop stardom.

Jade continued: "I had nothing to look forward to. I was living at home, trying to get that big break and signing on. But this proves dreams can come true."

In May Jade represented the UK in Eurovision, then signed a £150k solo deal with record label Geffen. That went for her to join Sugababes.

Jade told how it started with a knock at her door. She explained: "I heard a woman calling through the letterbox. It was the Sugababes' manager. She explained an opportunity might be coming up.

"She had a plane ticket so I went straight to the airport and we flew to Los Angeles.

"But then I had to wait in a hotel room for four days on my own on standby while the other girls sorted their business out.

"I had a terrible few days - too much time to think about it."

Jade probably deserves this break more than most.

Both her parents are disabled - dad Trevor is blind and partially deaf and her mum Carol has a rare auto-immune disease.

Jade, the eldest of three kids, somehow juggled going to stage school with looking after her folks - but she plays it all down.

Proud

Jade said: "I never missed out on anything because my parents are disabled. If anything, they always inspired me.

"I figure if they can conquer their disabilities then there's nothing stopping me doing anything - as a fully sighted, fully able-bodied person.

"I grew up in Plaistow in east London on a council estate. It's pretty average. Not that glamorous. But everyone is really proud of me.

"There's a lot of bad stuff there - but people are pleased something good's happening to me."

The band now has the strongest line-up in their 11-year history with Jade. But only time will tell if they can prove themselves again...

Damage control PR at work but it's good to see some positivity from papers at least.

Yeah I was taking the p***, assuming it meant we'd get more members. ;)

Jade doesn't really sing much in the song? =S and i think giving jade the red one line is right as it's showing a new start and showing that she IS a sugababe...
It still sounds like keisha is singing the word RedOne and then Jade Sings Sugababes?

I wonder how much Island/Management paid for that.

Thought they would have just paid Keisha out and thats it.
They'd have had to fork out a lot to sack K. I'd imagine there would have to be some brand name rights purchasing involved too.

Amelle has made a return to twitter, supposedly DMing some of the haters.

Given the amount of bile i've seen from just two fans i hate to think how many hate messages she's gotten.

The Sugababes have revealed how Keisha Buchanan’s exit from the group almost spelled the end for the band after 11 years.

But – choosing their favourite column to give the inside track over Keisha’s departure and new girl Jade Ewen’s arrival – the girls have vowed to come back stronger than ever.

I was the first to meet the new line-up face-to-face in London after they jetted in from LA where they’ve been filming the video for new single About A Girl.

And in an emotional interview, tearful band member Heidi Range told me: “Things came to a sudden end. We didn’t think anything was going to continue at all. We were going to split – and we’d be over.

“Then management came to us and asked Amelle and me if we would like to carry on. And we did.

“The last time I saw Keisha was terrible. We didn’t speak. I’ve sent her a message but she’s not talking to me – she doesn’t want to know. It’s been years together with the band and it’s really hard. Really hard. Everyone’s nicknamed me Tiny Tears because I’m constantly bursting into tears.”

But Heidi’s clearly positive about the future of the Sugababes – a band that’s sold close to 10 million albums.

She added: “We’ve been given a second chance. We tried everything we could to make it work with Keisha but we couldn’t keep it going with her. Life’s too short to live in an unhappy situation.

“None of us were happy – her included. It was a difficult situation.”

And it’s clear Heidi has the undivided support of fellow band member Amelle.

The star, who disappeared two weeks ago when the cracks started appearing in the band’s third line-up, says she’s ready for a fresh start as the ’Babes prepare to release new album Sweet 7.

Amelle said: “This is a new beginning. I’m very happy.

“I did need a breather so I went home and turned my phone off and ignored everybody. I wanted to work out what I wanted in life.

“Keisha and myself talked it out a lot. I saw her twice in the end when I was in LA and we were trying to sort things out. Once on my own and once with Heidi.

“I just think what’s done is done and it’s sorted. It’s time to move on.

“I’d like to be mates with her in the future and I can’t be arsed  with some public war of words.”

I’ll leave the final word to the newest member of the Sugababes – former Eurovision star Jade.

She told me: “It’s slightly intimidating being in the band of course but it’s huge. I was a fan before and I want to prove myself. Everyone in the band has always been a strong vocalist and that’s what I’ve always been about.”

And talking of Keisha, Jade said: “I think I’m nothing like her, I want to bring my own personality to the table.”

I reckon this latest line-up change will be just what the doctor ordered to spice things up a bit.

There’s life in these Sugababes yet – you just wait!
