Goes up two spots in America this week on the digital sales chart, bringing it's total sales to 1,079,830 units! And it is now officially platinum.
Actually, (which I'm pretty sure of) although it's reached Platinum status it's technically not been certified Platinum a long with Womanizer and Circus too. Kind of sad. I think her last officially certified singles were all 3 singles from Blackout.

It spends it's ninth week at #9 this week in America!

:cheer:

What does that mean?

None of her recent singles have actually been officially certified even though they may have reached the status of being Platinum or Gold.

This has to be her most successful single in the USA so far?

Baby One More Time (14 Weeks In The Top 10)

Womanizer (13 Weeks In The Top 10)

3 (9 Weeks In The Top 10)

But since the digital sales have started counting (Blackout era) Gimme More, Piece Of Me, Womanizer and Circus have all sold more.

None of her recent singles have actually been officially certified even though they may have reached the status of being Platinum or Gold.

This probably sounds really stupid...But why?

Do the record company have to pay for the cert?

Yep, and the record company has to be registered with the BPI. Maybe Jive is not?

No they are part of it because everything before Blackout that went platinum was certified including albums.

They is juzt chheaapp.

There aren't very many singles certified before the Blackout era either tbh though.

The certifications seems kind of random. Gimme More and Piece of Me were both certified Platinum and the Circus album was certified Platinum but that's about it within the past couple years.

Goes down two spots in America this week on the digital sales chart, bringing it's total sales to 1,217,144! I think it will manage another week in the top 10 on the Hot 100.
It spends it's tenth week at #9 this week in America!

I'm glad this was the hit it needed to be in the UK.

Brit sure needed a hit tbh. -_-

It didn't actually end up appealing to the UK general public much ( but then it is a Britney single after all :blush: - the usual forgettable throwaway, sing it then bin it ) - it pretty much died on its arse after a decent start, considering the stability to chart runs digital sales now provide) and its not like anyone bought (the embarrassing disaster of a flop parent album) "No New HITS"(aka stealing candy from babies) is it? :blush: ;

Chart run; 7-10-14-22-36

Top ten without any promo is not a flop. Top ten WITH promo is not a flop.
