This album is to celebrate 10 years in the music industry, not to celebrate how successful she's been, just like the last one was 5 years in the music industry

R U really that (finacially) naive + gullible?...AH! i see that U R a $hitney fanatic...that answered that question then! http://209.85.12.227/431/162/emo/shy.gif

Anyway... shouldn't your quote read how successful JIVE, her RECORD co. have been given that somehow (fanatics with such low expectations + IQ ?) she shockingly manages to continue 2 B a completely talentless manufactured PUPPET (now with additional dancing/speaking like a braindead zombie (millionth repetative fcuk up = "Hello LONDON !".....In Manchester :w00t: ) and the worst miming humanity has witnessed to a trainwreck quality of a PRE-RECOREDED vocal trk)

Well what she has released since her last GH collection has been a pile of s**te...IMO <_< so hopefully it will flop!

I will remember her for 'Baby One More Time' and maybe 'Oops' but that is all. Britney Spears retire now please, and spare us all from another album of 'music for strip clubs' please.. :)

AMEN TO THIS. I really don't get all the fuss over her current era - it's all stripper trash, and every track she has released since 2007 has sounded exactly the same.

Britney is the new ultimate Queen of Pop and she is the future of pop.....

Utter nonsense. Rihanna, Lady GaGa, Madonna, Pink, Nelly Furtado...all of these and more have been better and more consistently successful in recent years than Britney.

She is the best selling female artist of this decade, not Madonna, not Nelly Furtado, not Pink .... You can say what u wanna, but that's the true. ;)

She hasn't been top of her game since 2004 though. There's no denying she was massive 5-10 years ago, but her star has faded in recent times and she is being eclipsed by the likes of Pink and Rihanna.

Since 2004? Womanizer, Piece Of Me, Gimme More, My Prerogative, Circus all very well selling singles. You can compare her with everyone, but she is still biggest selling female artist :P

She hasn't been the biggest selling female for years now. Get over it.

All those songs you mentioned may have sold reasonable amounts, but the likes of Circus haven't really been in the same league as Hung Up or Umbrella.

Get over it you, that's the TRUE, the true sometimes hurting, isn't it?

Circus no, but Womanizer yes. ;)

And then what of albums? Blackout was outsold last year by Madonna, Leona, Duffy, Pink, Beyonce, Amy Winehouse to name a few other female artists.

Blackout era is Britney's worst era in her life, with all problems, zero promo, that album has sold 2.3+ million copies WW.

Pretty good IMO. Blackout is from 2007 not 2008. Duffy, Leona, Amy (I know her second album, but first is not successful like BtB) all girls with debut album, of course that debut album will sold a lot, do u know how many copies baby one more time has sold ?more than 22+millions.

I cant see this doing that well to be honest!!

top 10 in most countries pretty sure, but i don't think that will sold a lot.

But once again, you are using Britney's PAST record from 1998 to try and claim she is still the biggest selling female artist here in 2009. Do you not see the fail in your argument?

That is debut album, U compared debut albums of some girls, and I compared Britney's debut album. I don't see my fail.

How she isn't one of the best selling females in 2009? Circus has sold 3.5 WW, her tour is the most successful tour this year, all singles has charted in top 1/3/5/10/20 in most countries, apart from 2 year old song Radar. All hers albums from this decade are very very successful, 60+ million (5 studio albums, 1 GH album and 1 remix album).

I agree with you that it will debut inside the top10, but it will be mostly people who are fans that buy this release because she hasnt released enough material for a new best of set yet in my opinion.

I don't think it's a bad time to release a Singles Collection for her again right now. It's symbolic of her 10 years in the music business as someone already said and been 5 years since the last one. I can see fans of mostly her last 2 albums buying this as it does feature the singles from her last 2 albums more heavily. Otherwise I do think it's more of a fan release as I can see the box set being pretty popular. Of course, I'm sure it's a good time to cash in for Jive seeing as it's being released on the heels of Circus and while she's recording for her next studio album. It'll tie people over during the wait as we also get a new single and at least one other new track.

Other major artists release singles collections/GHs quite often, or at least it seems that way to me. Yeah, she's only had 2 studio albums since the last one but she's had 6 studio albums overall and it seems to be pretty good timing.

No, you said she's not the biggest selling female. She has sold more records this decade than any other female. It's fact.

Once again, I said she's not the biggest selling female NOW. I'm not talking about how much she sold in 2000 or whatever. Please do read my posts properly before replying.

But she was basically inactive from music for almost three of those years, we're coming up to the two year anniversary of her 'comeback' single. Another 7 singles (counting "Radar" is generous) hardly calls for another hits collection. Maybe in another album's time. She had twice as many albums as she has had in this gap before her first hits collection.

As for her being the biggest selling female of the decade, it's no surprise. Her launch was right back when sales were at their highest this decade. Albums selling 20 million (or more) worldwide is almost unheard of these days. I highly doubt she'd reach anywhere near that total if she was launched now, she was just lucky to be launched when Pop was at it's peak and she was given a future classic.
