#17 debut in Ireland this week.

Very good! I think Ireland loves her 2nd most after us in the UK tbh

Be careful, you'll upset the USA :kink:

I do think the British love her more than the Americans, though. How many UK #1s? FOUR. How many US #1s? As far as I know, just TWO.

She may have only had two #1's in the US but all 7 of her singles have passed the million sales mark which is a pretty impressive thing to do given how well The Fame and Fame Monster have sold here.
The Alejandro UK TV premiere is at 12.20am on The Box! :D Bit of a silly time though

Just watched the premiere. It looks so much better on the TV for some reason :)

I hope they don't cut the video down too much for the daytime version. Im expecting them to just cut out the beginning and the part where she's singing in the microphone.

After letting this set in, this is my third favorite video from her after Bad Romance and Telephone. Paparazzi is great as well.

All four are top notch.

Ireland loves her just as much as the UK . Her album is back up to number 2 on the rish Album Chart

Top 10 on iTunes :w00t:
Moved up to 9 on itunes now and she's 11 in the midweeks. That's brilliant. A couple of strong sales days at the end of the week and she might break the top 10 on Sunday :w00t:
The US is definitely her biggest market, 8 consecutive top ten singles all of which should be certified Double Platinum. . If the UK were her biggest market the least they could do was keep her consecutive top 10 record but no LoveGame just had to peak at a horrific #19 despite decentish sales. . Australia, Canada and the US are biggest markets if you go do some research. .

After looking at positions for her songs and albums on wikipedia, I don't see anything to say Australia, Canada & the USA are all bigger markets for her than the UK.

Australia/Canada/USA/UK

Just Dance - #1 #1 #1 #1 [1/1/1/1]

Poker Face - #1 #1 #1 #1 [2/2/2/2]

LoveGame - #4 #2 #5 #19 [2/3/2/2]

Paparazzi - #2 #3 #6 #4 [3/3/2/2]

Bad Romance - #2 #1 #2 #1 [3/4/2/3]

Telephone - #3 #3 #3 #1 [3/4/2/4]

The Fame - #3 #1 #2 #1 [3/5/2/5]

The Fame Monster - #1 #2 #5 #1 [4/5/2/6]

"Chillin" also got higher in the UK than the other three countries, and "The Remix" album got higher in the UK than Canada & Australia, but I dunno if it got a US release. Not included "Eh Eh" as it didn't get a UK release, or "Alejandro" as it's still climbing in the UK. Not saying the above is a proper way of showing her bigger markets, as I probably wouldn't put the US after Canada, Australia & the UK, but if you look at peak positions for her songs and albums, they've done better in the UK.

Peaks are a very inaccurate way of representing what her biggest market is. For example Bad Romance may have peaked at only number 2 in Aus and the US but how many weeks at number 2 and in the top 10 in comparison to the UK did it have where it peaked at no.1, almost all her singles have went top 5 in Canada and Australia and all her singles have went top 10 in the US. The only thing that shows the UK is her biggest market is the amount of #1s she's had in comparison. And that is a poor argument no matter what way you look at it because based on sales, weeks in top ten and top forty, certifications and consistancy in success from one single to the next - the UK does fall short. It is much more easier to get a #1 in the UK than US, charity singles never go #1 in the US do they. . She has two singles in the top 10 best selling digital songs of all time in the US! Enough said!

I won't keep on, and I guess I'm bias towards the UK since it's my country, but after looking at "The Fame/The Fame Monster" album sales in the UK, USA, Canada & Australia, and looking at the population of each country, it has sold more copies in the UK per person than in the other countries. I could admit that the USA is her biggest market, but I don't believe that the UK is 4th or lower when it comes to her biggest markets.

Anyway back on topic:

Katy Perry defends recent comments

MTV - Last week, the same day Lady GaGa premiered her clip for "Alejandro" fellow popstar Katy Perry posted a tweet that many fans thought was in response to the video's religious imagery. "Using blasphemy as entertainment is as cheap as a comedian telling a fart joke," Perry posted.

In a new radio interview the "Calafornia Gurls" singer clarified her comments
