3k copies prevented Bad Romance from reaching #1, literally.

They tried to take the song to #1 by releasing two remixes EPs and the CD version, but by the time they did, it was too late. What they really should have done was discounted the song or dropped a remix with another artist, either of those moves would have sealed the deal to hit #1.
Shame it was against Tik Tok which was massive download hit at the time, the biggest weekly seller until 2012, so even moreso than Bad Romance. (Shouldn't ESOF be ESOM though, if it's the Jay-Z/Alicia Keys hit).
In the end, Tik Tok sold 7M downloads in the US while Bad Romance and ESOM sold 6M each, however, Bad Romance won the longevity game, it is the only one among the three songs to have 1B on Spotify and YouTube.

This ranks 24th on the Billboard Best Pop Songs list:

Like any great moment in history, there is a world before “Bad Romance” and one after. In the time before, Lady Gaga was simply the breakthrough pop star with oddball outfits, eccentric live performances and deceptively conventional dance songs. But with a few post-verbal rah rah, ah-ah-ah’s, a pounding German electro-pop melody and her sharpest songwriting yet, Gaga transformed herself into a freakish force of nature, invoking monstrous imagery amidst a musical landscape defined by pristine sameness. “Bad Romance” marked the start of Mother Monster’s reign as the queen of the misfits, where being artfully weird in the world of pop music was finally in fashion. — S.D.

Should be top 3 but I guess we'll take it.
