Everybody, Madonna's first single was released today 27 years ago, on October 6th 1982, and it's amazing to think what a long ride we had with Madonna's music, knowing that will have even more fun in the future with such a prolific artist.

Written by Madonna and produced by DJ Mark Kamins, Everybody was one of the four songs on the demo that she carried around everywhere when she was looking for a record company signing.

The song was later re-worked for her "You Can Dance" album (1987), the girlie show tour (1993), the Steven Bray's "Pre-Madonna" album (1996) and a "Stuart Price version" for her Confessions On A Dancefloor promo tour (2005).

I love this song it's a classic. The girlie show tour version is brillant.

I don't like Everybody. I know Madge's roots were as a bit of a disco pop diva, but Everybody's just TOO lightweight for me compared to some of her other work.
