It is the banks that are the problem - they need bailing out. The people who are working (all 17 of us) can just about afford a CD or two a year these days as a treat :smoke:

Oddly enough this country is still mega expensive and twice the price of the same stuff up the North (in the UK). And our PM still gets paid more than David Cameron and Obama. You couldn't make it up. It's like an episode of Father Ted.

Oh hush. You still have a tons better quality of living than us poor plebs over here.

I've seen all your posh houses. <_<

How much does an unemployed person over age 25 in Ireland get in Jobseeker's Benefit each week? Hmmm???

Edited by Jupiter9

I'll tell you. I've just looked.

A weekly personal rate of 196 Euros it says.

It's £65.45 per week over here which equates to 75.61 Euros.

I think I'll come over and sign on

Then again, given the ridiculous prices you charge over there you probably need 196 Euros....

I'm off now. I'll send my donation first thing tomorrow :P

:o 196 euros converts to £166 a week for job seekers allowance

that's more than some people get working a week here

Indeed :o

Shall we head over to Ballymacgillicudy and put our claims in?

Yes but things are twice the price here plus you get free heath care in the UK. :smoke:

Have a look at this. The former leader of the Irish Labour Party Pat Rabbitte blowing his top at a member of the Govt last night :D

I think he's rather annoyed

The entire country is bloody furious. You should just hear the anger on radio shows over the past week - it is unreal. People are in utter shock at the loss of sovereignty due to the IMF coming in to fix the mess our incompetent Govt created. The FF politicians have been lying and mis-leading the public all week with constant denials about the bail-out - and Brian Cowen should be shot. Their arrogance and refusal to accept any responsibility is just insane. As someone said the other day - they are living in alice in wonderland. And one of the main culprits Bertie Ahern is nowhere to be seen. Infact the last time he was seen was in a cupboard in an advert to promote the News Of The World.

At least now the IMF are here the lies will stop and it will be sorted out by competent people. They will no doubt cut everything and anything but at least there will be a clear plan. The next step is getting rid of the current show of bast*rds with a General Election. It's only a matter of months now. B)

Evening. I was fully intending to go into extended posting mode tonight but my PC is running incredibly slowly. I'm not best pleased. :smoke:
Is your job safe enough?

Yes, but with the cuts that are coming I'd be better off on the dole. <_<

Brilliant news it has now been announced there will be an election in January. The fat lady has sung and the end is nigh. Thank f*** they will be gone in less than 2 months.

Watch this. My fave journalist Vincent Browne has lambasted our useless waffling baffoon of a leader last night. ^_^

Jups, are you sure it wasn't Psycho Kitty who sabotaged your pc to make it go slowly? :o
