Is anyone else suprised Miley is not yet top 100 after all the fake versions.

Who is buying this Westlife crap do they not realise there is a superior version on Itunes that was top 10 a few weeks ago.

Nice to see Jay Sean having this much success after ten years of busting ass which is much more than can be said for the idiots who are about to take over our charts for the next three months.

I highly doubt that

Cheryl > JLS > Leona for the next few weeks

How depressing.

My problem is that this release isn't about raising money for a charity, it is about building the hype for the show and creating content with very little effort on their part and the charity angle gives them an excuse.

There are always some who complain about charity singles, but the big ones like CIN or Comic Relief are not just fundraisers, they are advertising for the fundraising evening as well as the charities in general. Great Ormonde Street will benefit, but not as much as the X Factor brand.

Someone should set up a Just Giving page so that if people want to protest about the monopoly, they can do so without undermining the actual fundraising.

Exactly it is disgusting they are using charity to promote X Factor they do not give a crap about the actual charity.

CIN and Comic Relief also bring some humour into the tracks and it is a bit of fun. Whereas X Factor just completely destroys the song with 20+ imbeciles screeching over it.

I agree about the Just Giving page there really should be someone in the media with power to do this.

Illegal downloading is not destroying the music industry in the UK, X Factor is.

Some people really need to calm down.

On the GaGa topic, the song won't show up on the singles chart as long as it album only, it'll appear on the itunes album chart.

On the X Factor topic, yes x factor is just one big advertisement for the winners single. The charity single is for charity and I will buy it, like I buy all other charity singles that I know about. For someone to say no good music has come out of X Factor you have to be blind, I mean listen to Alex's album, Leona's debut and her second offering when it's out. I'm sure a few of you love Will Young, Girls Aloud and others that have come off similar shows.

The point is, it is preventing other artists that deserve number one from getting there. The charity excuse is horrendous why not donate to the actual charity then instead of buying a cd single. No groundbreaking music has come out of the X Factor, Leonas first album was crap the only good songs on it were BL and BIT. Alex's album has left alot to be questioned.

I don't think Will Young and Girls Aloud can be regarded in the same category as they never had a long running show to promote their offerings. It disgusts me that GA's success only gets HUGE when Cheryl is on X Factor and they release their worst album.

The point is, it is preventing other artists that deserve number one from getting there.

If you remove Cheryl & Alex, then Chipmunk would have had an extended run at #1 ... that would be equally dreadful

Actually I agree with practically all that Rated R said (except I think 'Tangled Up' and OOC are the best GA albums :heehee: ). I think the normal things are when are people buy the song because they like it and not because the song is for charity. You can give your money for charity for the whole year, so why do people suddenly wake up and remember about it only when the new X-Factor trash is out?
