Don't hate me, but m kind of enjoying the break! I've got so much else going on right now... Plus I can still remember life before BJSC... Just :kink:

I'm not bothered either way to be honest...it's nice to have a break, but at the same time I miss it...

 

I keep thinking of songs to send but know that I'll be bored of them in 6-8 weeks :lol:

I agree the break is ok but I never imagined it will be this long.

I think I'd be able to survive 2 weeks but this is so long. :/

 

Personally I think it would be better if we did the best of like how NSC at Esctoday does it and allow each country to enter their favourite entry....I think that's a far more positive idea and allows everyone to have a chance. Plus it cuts out on all the time nominating entries.

 

I'd be miles more interested if everyone could have an entry in the final. When you see one country has about 4-5 entries and another country has absolutely nothing it's hard to get excited about it. :/

Imo the "best of BJSC" isn't just about the songs it's about all the countries that take part. I think that's more important.

 

The best of should be more like a celebration of all countries and they're songs not just another competitive contest.

Agreed. This is the contest of the best songs of the last decade so i think - no matter how i want it all to be fair and all countries could take part - the best is to stay as we are. Not that the system is changing anyway :heehee:

The reason that the system is the way it is is due to the simple fact that there are a significant number of countries who have sent more than one contest defining song - you only have to look at Mdice and FSR Rontvia to see that to force them to select just the one song would be ignoring many contributions from them which have helped to make the contest as great as it is! Whereas conversely we have some countries yet to enter anything good enough to qualify :P In any case, this is to find the best songs from XI to XX...an overall celebration of the songs, not the countries! :lol: Given it's the BuzzJack SONG contest I have no idea why you think it ought to be about the countries - if the contributions are that good, they will qualify! :P

I'm not particularly feeling like I'm missing BJSC at the moment, but it's probably because I had a final exam on Tuesday, followed by seeing Alesha in Wednesday, so I'd have been too busy to notice it missing.

 

I'll need to have a word with James, we're due to start the Rejects contest soon, but I'm not sure how it's working. I don't know if it's gonna be the size of a main contet, if it's gonna have semis etc. a few things need to be ironed out.

While there's more than enough competition, I don't reckon there's a massive need for semis...30 song final with 3 nominees from each contest (or 20 song final with 2 nominees + however many wildcards you wish to put in) would do fine, and even with that I reckon there'd be a massive range in quality :lol:

Oh, and people, DO remember that it is just a week away until TBO starts up! :lol: Do nominations or listen to the songs again or take part in the Rejects (once it has begun...looks like someone's a bit late given I said last Sunday was the limit for starting it :kink:) if you've got THAT much of a BJSC craving :P
