Posted October 22, 200915 yr ROBBIE, KING OF THE BRITS Published: 23 Oct 2009 THE good news just keeps rolling in for ROBBIE WILLIAMS. He redeemed himself from a shaky X Factor appearance with Tuesday's stunning BBC Electric Proms show. And he is now set for a top honour at next year's Brit Awards. The Stoke-born star will be presented with the Outstanding Contribution to Music Award then finish the show - the 30th Brits - with a live medley of his hits. The fact he's accepted the opportunity proves Robbie is gearing up for more live appearances next year. And the fact he's been offered it proves the British music industry is placing its faith in him again. It will be a superb end to a great night at London's Earls Court on February 16 - and watched live by millions of viewers on ITV1. Robbie is already the King Of The Brits having won 15 of the gongs - more than any other artist. Ged Doherty, chairman of The BRITs Committee, said: "Robbie is one of the outstanding artists and performers of his generation. It will be an absolute thrill to have him at the BRITs' 30th anniversary show receiving the Outstanding Contribution Award. We are delighted." What an amazing turnaround. Robbie can do no wrong again. ROBBIE and Little Britain star DAVID WALLIAMS will cycle from Land's End to John O'Groats on a tandem for Sport Relief's next campaign. October 22, 200915 yr :o :o :o :o :o :yahoo:  :cheer: :w00t: As well as everything has been going since the gig on Tuesday I never expected this :o What brilliant news. Ok, normally these awards are given to old acts, but as it is the 30th Anniversary it makes perfect sence to have the artist who has won more than any other and sold more albums in the UK than any British artist in history. :w00t: I can't wait for this. How brilliant :w00t: :yahoo:
October 22, 200915 yr About bloody time too! :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo: Although does that mean they think he's past it?

October 22, 200915 yr About bloody time too! :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo: Although does that mean they think he's past it?  No, I reckon he will be nominated in quite a few catagories. Usually the acts who get this are old, but Rob has achieved a ridiculous amount in a very short time so he is the exception ^_^ This is going to p*** off alot of people :D Edited October 22, 200915 yr by Scotty

October 23, 200915 yr Now if only Wee Daniel was British :( He has just been on the Late Late Show and has the most awful jacket on
October 24, 200915 yr That's brilliant, but my personal opinion is that it's too early for such award for Robbie. I'm not saying he didn't deserve it, just I'm saying that my thought is when somebody win this, his career is over. :( I'm probably wrong, but that's what I think.
October 24, 200915 yr Author He's topping the charts worldwide at the minute so I would say his career is far from over.....I think it's great to get it at this time ..
October 24, 200915 yr Yeah, Rob must be the first act ever to get this when they are still very successful both critically and commercially. I mean Bodies being the second biggest song on the planet and the Guinness world record just proves Rob is still a very big deal. Most of acts who have got it before had done all their best work long before getting the award. Even Oasis, who are similar ages as Rob, although their last album was very good, it still wasnt a patch on their earlier work and did not sell well worldwide at all. It would be so brilliant if he won another award as well. I think the last time that happened was with Tom Jones

October 24, 200915 yr I am not sure. Apparently last year it was Nov 26th as the dealine, but they could change it. Wasnt there uproar when Escapology was past the deadline and it was released the 18th Nov so who knows what will happen. He should still be nominated for Best Male though.

I think he may well treasure this particular one most of all...... ;)
October 25, 200915 yr If Robbie's performances I have seen on Youtube are anything to go by, the audience will be on a high for a long time afterwards. Great news. :cheer:
