The reason it did well in America is it's generic R&B with Lil' Wayne on.

I wish it would overtake Cheryl too.. I love both songs but would like to see Jay Sean have a number 1 over here as well as in the US
For me Fight For This Love > Down. And I don't think much about FFTL, it's just a nice song... Meet Me Halfway is by FAR the best song in the Top-5.

I am loving meet me halfway at the moment so would probably agree with you there.

Everybody in Love only number 23 on Irish itunes.. would have expected it to be a lot higher by now

Wonder how well it will do over here on Sunday

On the pre-orders on Itunes here its been knocking around from 5-35 for more than a month now - so i'm expecting a high debut come sunday tbh

Beat Again didn't do too well over there either didn't it?

Ad anyway, Irish iTunes impact tends to be meaningless when it comes to obvious mega smash hits like EIL.

Ye I think Beat Again got to number 4 over there

Defo number 1 over here anyway especially with X Factor performance.. but just curious to see if they can get there before the performance

I think they will though as Beat Again did

'Beat Again' sold over 100k in the first week in the summer, it would be quite ludicrous to suggest the new one won't go to #1 with big sales coupled with an X-Factor performance...
let's be honest...if FFTL was sung by someone else, probably would miss top 20.

Maybe, but it's NOT sung by someone else, and it DIDN'T miss the top 20, so what's the point of saying that would happen if it was by a different person? That's like saying

the Holocaust would never happen if Hitler was never born

.

I've put that into a spoiler, because it could possibly be seen as offensive, but that's the only example I can think of that can convey my message

I hope when the BEP's perform Meet Me Halfway on the X-Factor that it sells more than what Leona does on the same week.
I'm saying because it's true...it's selling this much just because it's Cheryl on it....mediocre song IMO.

The thing i find stupid about that is, you say it as though cheryl is rare in that she is the artist selling the song as though usually any song can be sung by anyone and aslong as its a good song, the singer doesnt matter or aslong as the singer is popular, the song doesnt matter.

Poker face is quite obviously a good song but do you think it would have done as well being sung by susan boyle? There are so many songs which have owed a lot of their success to the artist rather than the track itself.

They'll sell well, but I highly doubt they'll outsell Leona

BEP are singing on the xfactor!!!! :o For real!!!!???

Yeh, next week. Bon Jovi & JLS this week, Black Eyed Peas & Leona next week

Wishful thinking but they won't outsell Leona.

Imo MMH pisses all over Happy, I do like Happy though.
