November 4, 200915 yr Woho :cheer: , i hope if she is successful Girls Aloud will also try to crack America. William should help the single a bit since he is more famous there. Edited November 4, 200915 yr by Jmh123
November 4, 200915 yr BEP are the biggest band in the us right now, so it will surely help her, people might play her? 3 words is the perfect single anyone who thinks fight for this love or stand up is crazy. US Radio will want it as urban as possible... to play it!
November 7, 200915 yr I think we may have to wait until 2011 for GA now, especially if Cheryl makes an appearance stateside, and with Nadine's album out next year.
November 7, 200915 yr 3 words being the best song of the decade or so, it could easily be #1 all over the world for about 5 months.
November 7, 200915 yr As much as I love Cheryl, i can't see her making it in America at all! The reason she's so popular here is cos shes the nations sweetheart, not because she is a good singer. Although it would be nice if I'm proved wrong :) But if she really wants to crack America it will take a LOT of time and hard work....I'd rather have another Girls Aloud album than have Cheryl launch herself globally tbh :)
November 8, 200915 yr 3 words being the best song of the decade or so, it could easily be #1 all over the world for about 5 months. Ew no it's not. 'Fight for This Love' and 'Stand Up are so MUCH better. '3 Words' is MEH, imo. I don't want her to break the USA market as a solo artist, I want GIRLS ALOUD. Edited November 8, 200915 yr by Tyler

November 9, 200915 yr Matter of opinion I guess. "Stand up" is in my bottom 2 of the album probably  Well I can't really judge, I haven't had a chance to hear the whole album yet.
November 10, 200915 yr I live in the US and I have heard alot of Girls Aloud songs....I think they look cute, but their songs are not that great and wouldn't do well in the US...no offense to anyone who likes them. I think groups like Sugababes when it was Heidi, Keisha and Amelle would have done better.
November 10, 200915 yr well this thread is about Cheryls solo songs, which sound nothing like any Girls Aloud tracks ;)

I think groups like Sugababes when it was Heidi, Keisha and Amelle would have done better. thats actually just your opinion anyway? i dont feel girls aloud songs would have made america or been huge hits its not the type of music that sells, had they perhaps call the shots had a long shot? cheryl's is different. with will.i.am she can get on certain radio station, if he promotes with her she can get on tv shows? leona has broken america and she is a judge on the x factor with simon cowell, so there is talking points... 3 words has a chance, if the record label get enough hype, why not, u never know!?
November 12, 200915 yr '3 Words' is the perfect single choice for America. Don't forget America have very different tastes to us and apart from the use of the sample, I can't see 'Fight For This Love' doing too well over there as a lead single. '3 Words' is perfect. Plus the fact it has Will.I.Am should help her take off a bit. :P It's more about what gets the biggest push/most support from radio than different tastes there. I think the song is utter drivel but it makes sense, having a name like Will.I.Am attached to it means it stands a far better chance than 'Fight For This Love'.
January 11, 201015 yr I can't see this song being big AT ALL here but I guess it depends how much time and money the record company and Cheryl decides to put behind the promotion. I quite like Girls Aloud music, them as a band, and don't really see the appeal in Cheryl's music as far as what I've heard. But maybe I'm in the majority. Like it was said already though, maybe having a familiar artist such as will.i.am will help to give it a push.
January 13, 201015 yr I cant see her doing that well in the US. Her popularity is only as high as it is due to her exposure from the x factor and I doubt she is very well known over there.
January 13, 201015 yr Tell her to wait, and try to crack the US with the next Girls Aloud album. THEY already have a small fanbase in the US. Mostly because of gay guys like me that play them at parties and get them small bits of promo. hah.
January 16, 201015 yr US people are not keen on girl bands though. If Nicole Scherzinger from PCD released 2 single(one with...will.i.am) and none of them was in top 100, I don't see possibility, that Cheryl would be in top40.
January 17, 201015 yr but Cheryl won't be known in the US as part of Girls Aloud, she will be known as a solo artist.
