Posted November 2, 200916 yr An X Factor performance is poised to deliver a third successive UK number one single this weekend, with JLS’s Everybody In Love set to debut at the top. The Epic signings look certainties to make it two number ones out of two releases, as their follow-up to Beat Again is presently outselling its closest challenger, Fascination/Polydor signing Cheryl Cole’s Fight For This Love, by more than units to one, according to retail reports. JLS performed the song on last Sunday’s X Factor show, a promotional slot which also helped the chart’s last two chart-toppers enter at number one: Fight For This Love and Bad Boys by Alexandra Burke featuring Flo Rida. Last season’s X Factor runners-up are also registering another new hit, with Spell It Out ranked the 12th biggest-seller at this stage of the week. The ITV1 show’s influence also stretches to the albums market where Mercury act Bon Jovi are heading towards a sixth UK number one album after they performed on the same programme. The Circle has a lead of around 50% on Cheryl Cole’s Fascination-issued 3 Words and should be joined in the Top 10 by first best ofs from Foo Fighters and Katherine Jenkins. The Foo Fighters’ Columbia-handled Greatest Hits is the week’s fourth top seller at this point in the week, while Jenkins’ Decca-issued The Ultimate Collection should provide her with another Top 10 hit just a week after her Warner debut Believe charted at six. Nearly a year after its release, Beyonce’s RCA-handled I Am Sasha Fierce is looking on course for a Top 10 return as its sales lift by more than 400% on the week. Outside the 10, expect around a dozen new entries or re-issues to arrive in the Top 75, including sets from Nirvana, Slayer, Sting, Frankie Goes To Hollywood, Julian Casablancas and Bee Gees. Back to the singles chart and, behind JLS and Cole, the Island-issued Down by Jay Sean featuring Lil Wayne is the third biggest-seller of the week so far, having debuted at three on last Sunday’s chart, while Interscope/Polydor’s Black Eyed Peas are a few hundred sales behind with Meet Me Halfway. Burke’s Bad Boys completes the top-five sellers as S signings Westlife’s What About Now, which debuted at two last weekend, currently occupies sixth position. Mercury act Chase & Status’s End Credits is shaping up for a Top 10 debut, while other new arrivals will include Fiction/Polydor’s Snow Patrol with Just Say Yes and Mercury act Bon Jovi with We Weren’t Born To Follow, the song they performed on X Factor. Alexandra Burke (40k) Cheryl will probably still be the number 1 album, but I expect Bon Jovi to be number 2.
