Okay, I don't want to be jumped on by Leona fans, but I will be annoyed when she's #1 on Sunday against Sugababes, Will Young & Britney's new singles, those 3 are far more superior and Leona will get the extra push tonight when she performs. I'm not insulting her, I like it. I just don't think her song is in league with the other 3, yet she'll get on top because of who she is.

A Lead single is still a lead single. Just as much as people would be wanting to see what the new artists will be coming up with, people will want to see what Leona will be coming up with. There are a few really good songs on her album but IMO happy is just dull and boring, and even if the lyrics are meant to be deep, I find the actual song is lacking and she frankly doesn't convey the emotion well enough in her singing... And Everybody In Love is JLS' second single...

 

A lead single may be...a lead single, but the difference is, people are going to be anticipating Cheryl's, Alexandra's and JLS' new songs, as it's the first (or 2nd in JLS' case) time they're putting out new songs. Leona doesn't currently have the buzz around her, like they do. It's due to being new out. 'Happy' is a very intense and emotional song, but obviously it doesn't reach all people. And I know about JLS...it's been mentioned several times, and I apologised...

Hormonal teenagers ? yes their fanbase has a large majority of young girls.. but not all of us like them for their looks :| I am more than willing to admit if I dont like their songs

 

Yeah i wasn't stereotyping. I'm fully aware that not all of their fanbase are hormonal teenagers. But if you look at the youtube comments for example under their videos, you will know what i mean. Pretty sad imo.

Also no X Factor contestant- not even Alex- came anywhere near getting the first week album sales that Leona got.

Leona's album sales were amazing of course, but the album industry is AWFUL right now so... :lol:

 

Anyway why are you comparing Leona's whole portfolio with all the other X Factors, it's so irelevant! No one said that she hasn't been sucessful, no one said that Alex is better than her, people just don't like this song.. They're allowed to without you bringing the whole history of Leona Lewis into it.

Are you actually kidding? Everyone calls Beyoncé "Queen B" or "Queen Bey" that is her nickname. Legends have called her that :lol:

As much as i love Leona, please don't compare their album sales. Leona's album was released in 2007, Alex's was released in 2009. The comparison is irrelevant. And Alexandra is also marketed as a singles artist while Leona is more of an album artist (more mature fans than Alex due to the type of music).

I don't understand why it is irrelevant, and I don't think it aimed at mature people and I don't think they were the only ones who brought Spirit in it's first week- everybody young and old were going crazy for it. If someone compares the first day sales of Bad Boys, FFTL and EIL with Happy as evidence at how poorly Leona is doing, then I think I can use this as a counter-point. And I was also talking about 3 Words and the upcoming JLS album as wel- not just Alex- whose album dropped four places in one week.

Trust me, Beyonce is. She is the queen of her generation in music. Britney doesn't even come close. I'm not going to slag off Britney because she obviously has done very well for herself and i'm sure she's a nice girl but she's just a pawn in the music industry. Beyonce is the artist out of the two and is undoubtedly the most talented one.

 

But i would say Beyonce is more of a Goddess than a Queen. :wub:
