What is the standart price of an album on Itunes? I recall when I looked at the Tesco download site, all new release albums were £3 so 4.99 seems fine for Itunes? Either way it doesnt matter as Itunes album sales make up very little compared to physical sales, even if it goes from 4 to 1 on itunes it still prob will be out of the top 10 tomorrow. As I said a few posts up, it has done very well digitally and continues to do so.

I had read there would be an annoucment yesterday regarding the 3rd single. Nothing happened though

Let's hope they keep the 3rd single under their hat for 2 more weeks.... ( ) I wouldn't be surprised if they announced the 3rd single tomorrow and its release date was April... or even up against next x factor's winning single. :D

OK !!! can we have best so on what the 3rd single is gonna be....

Moi goes with Starstruck <_<

The album drops 4 places to 21 this week after being 19 in the mids. Not sure sales yet, but am trying to find out. I think it's time the 3rd single was at least announced. I mean YKM has been very successful in both sales and especially airplay, but at this stage a new song needs to be out there to get people buying the album. If rumours are true that he will be performing on that awful BBC dance show, then surely he will be singing the 3rd single. My guess is also Starstruck, as although Morning Sun is a vastly suprerior track, a slow song following YKM is unlikely. And Starstruck would be suited to one of those dance programes. Hopefully we get an announcment soon.

Wonder if they are holding off on the anouncement...there is already a track called Starkstrukk out there

RKTVS must have sold about 10k last week, and I believe it will climb back this week.

When is he performing on that show? If they announce the 3rd single it will instantly receive massive airplay and a lot of people will download the album version (even worse if it has no b-side). So if they are scheduling the release for the week of the brits (most likey) it will lose a lot of power and will chart in top 15 too soon... Total sales will be the same either way but the peak position will be much lower, unless if the song gets so massive that it can outsell everything in the chart even after having sold 100k+. Management must be secretly hoping to push both album and single to the top after the brits, sounds quite ambitious (it will be a busy week) but it is possible. B)

IFPI Final Quarter awards not out yet?

Nope  Quite what the delay is I don't know. The best we will get know for offical sales figures is the IFPI end of year Global list which should be pubished withint he next few weeks. Also the Music Week Top Selling UK albums Globally (not including UK sales) which is usually published in January.

Hopefully it will get 2xplat (2 million) by the IFPI for Europe. Either way it has done 2m worldwide. :D

Finally we now know how much RKTVS has sold globally. Music Week today have announced their annual list of the best selling albums of 2009 globally, not counting the UK itself, and Rob is the 4th best seller and sold 1.3m physical albums outside the UK in only a month and a half. So with UK figures added, as well as digital sales globally, and sales so far this year, the album has sold just under 2.5 million copies in a little over 2 months. :D :cheer:

Are those worldwide sales? Including the US?
  • Author
Yes. Outside the UK, but including physical copies elsewhere. Although there is confusion about U2, some years US sales are not included for one or two albums in the list such as Metallica a few years back. It will become more clear in the IFPI end of year list.

For who? Apart from Subo all the sales are way low than usual due to the decline in album sales. 2.5m in 2 months is a very good result, the days of 7 or 8 million sellers are over without the US I am afraid
  • Author
It is not a global list.It is for UK only album acts based on sales outside the UK. U2 are on it due to being signed by Live Nation :D

RKTVS dropped down to 30 this week, and will probably fall further in the following weeks until the SUPER SPECIAL BRITS PRIZE!! :cheer:

A full list of placings, total sales and weekly sales for the UK (where available):

PLACE - WEEKLY SALES (TOTAL SALES)

2 - 238,125

4 - 85,724 (323,849)

9 - 55,953 (379,802)

10 - 60,298 (440,108)

11 - 74,138 (514,246)

6 - 111,599 (625,845)

6 - 102,283 (728,129)

11 - 24,971 (753,100)

17 - 11,114 (764,214)

21 - 9,790 (773,914)

26 - ???? (????)

30 - ??? (785,000)

Sales have slowed, but with my limited chart knowledge and st00fs, I can see 1 million UK sales in the not too distant future. Probably will take the third single to finally reach it though.

Yep sales have slowed but hopefully we will see a nice rise the week of the BRITS, as he is doing SYTYCD as well, and Morning Sun will start getting airplay on TV and radio.

I would say that the SYTYCD will only give a little increase in sales, but I'm hopeful that it being the final will increase the viewing numbers signifcantly and maybe even attract some music fans? Because judging by Alexandra Burke and Lemar's sales following their performances, I would say either they didn't make any impression on the viewers whatsoever, or the audience are not the music-buying public. Either way, I'm just looking forward to seeing him perform. :)

Yeah it is certainly a bit suspect as to why he is appearing on such an irrelevent show with average ratings that is aimed towards young people, ie. not his target audience. Maybe he is doing it as a favour to someone, because from his mannagments point of view they would be looking at the biggest show, and that is Dancing On Ice. Not that I want him on that either mind you but in terms of ratings it gets far more and would be better promo as it would have a wider range of ages watching. Very odd choice tbh, and it is screened on his birthday as well. I assume he will pre-record it.
