November 17, 200916 yr I am a Leona fan and bought Happy I just don't feel compelled to purchase Echo anytime soon. It's an amazing album :) There are loads of tracks better than Happy on it too imo. Why don't you get it for Christmas??? ^_^

November 17, 200916 yr I find it very suprising looking around the main online sites and Robbie is still #1 on Amazon (Leona is #7) - He is also #1 on Play (Leona is #5) and #1 on HMV (Leona is #3). Obviously physical sales in shops are the main thing but I am suprised she is not #1 on those sites. I'm not seeing as the album is apparently cheaper to buy in the supermarkets (Asda £6; Tesco £8.70 or a "bargain" £10 if you buy it with the X-Factor single)
November 17, 200916 yr Could i get the position for Bon Jovi and snow patrolin the album chart please??? and snow patrol just say yes in the singles chart? Bon Jovi album down 11 from Sunday. Snow Patrol *just* outside of the Top 10 with album. Snow Patrol single 20 + 5.
November 17, 200916 yr Clearly the low 50,000 sales come from her dwindling fanbase and the unfortunate folk who ordered the album before any of the songs were leaked. Just like last week, her sales will fall throughout the week, and Robbie or JLS will be #1 on Sunday. I doubt they'll even bother with a third single, as Outta My Head will likely flop and not make the top 10. ?? I find it laughable, how these people who don't like Leona, her songs, or anything about her, seem to be expecting her to match her previous 1st week sales! If these people dislike Leona so much, WHY do they even care?? The only people seeing this album/single as a flob, are not her fans, but people who (for some reason) have high expectations of an artist they don't even like!! Edited November 17, 200916 yr by Justin
November 17, 200916 yr I don't think anyone expected her to match or out-do Spirit's first week, did they?
November 17, 200916 yr I don't think anyone expected her to match or out-do Spirit's first week, did they? Of course not, then in 2007 she was fresh from the X Factor! people where in antisipation for her debut and lapped it up. Now 2 years on, we now have the likes of Alex Burke, JLS, Cheryl etc, who have grabbed peoples attention and alot of casual fans/buyers would have moved on to the 'next big thing' it's not brain surgery...its POP music! But when all is said and done Echo is a great album and Leona still has a great career ahead of her - whether some people except that or not! Edited November 17, 200916 yr by Justin
November 17, 200916 yr Can I have KoL album position please? Brill to see GaGa album out of top 40, KoL for Y/E #1 ;o
November 17, 200916 yr How is 50k for Leona branded a flop? What were Cheryl's first week sales and do you think LL will follow a similar pattern?
November 17, 200916 yr I can only speak for myself, but I view all of those acts as individual artists in their own right, rather than 'buying into the X Factor'. Find it strange to think of people leaping from supporting Leona's career to JLS' career, for instance, just because of that association. If people are like that, and I suppose a lot may well be, it's so fickle. With Leona I agree anticipation was a big factor in her debut, and Bleeding Love really was a one in a million kind of song. Flash forward 2 years and I see her as "Leona Lewis", not "Leona who won The X Factor in 2006 and has an album coming out". I don't think her sales figure this week is anything to worry about at all, it's a respectable figure and is enough to be heading to #1. It selling faster in the first week would just be a bonus. The real test will be how much endurance the album has, how well it does over Christmas, surely very well indeed. :)

November 17, 200916 yr How is 50k for Leona branded a flop? What were Cheryl's first week sales and do you think LL will follow a similar pattern? Cheryl started with 30k-ish (though jumped to 60k the following day, which is abnormal), and ended on 125,000 for the first week. Obviously a lot lower than her single's 292k opener, but 125k is 40k more than the two #1 Girls Aloud albums managed first week. :)

Everyone's going on about how it's a flop etc....Yeah it's not selling as much as JLS etc...But it's still great sales! JLS have been released off the back of 2 number 1 singles! Either way, this will sell very well over xmas! I imagine it'll be close to double platinum by the time 'OMH' is released and will end up triple platinum, close to a million when the project is done. Not too shabby if you ask me. ;)
November 17, 200916 yr I'm honestly bored of people saying Leona is flopping. The only reason JLS sold so much is that they have FIVE different versions of the one album out, and we all know what pathetic teenage girls are like with their high disposable incomes. It really boggles me why girls fancy JLS aswell when three of the members are beyond ugly, but that is another topic. Anyway, Leona only sold so much first time around as Bleeding Love was amazing and that the X Factor had never produced real talent before. I'm willing to bet Leona will have the highest second album first week sales for a reality star?
November 17, 200916 yr A position above being the lowest position in the Top 40. That's so sad cause it's in the top 3 best selling and the deluxe edition is awesome and cheap

November 17, 200916 yr Doubt it. Will Young sold over 200k with Friday's Child. :) Indeed I think that people quickly forget. Will Young and Gareth Gates both had four #1 singles each, something more recent reality stars have yet to be match. ^_^
November 17, 200916 yr Cheryl Cole has technically had 5. Girls Aloud have had 4. Leona 3 JLS 2 (3 if including Hero) Alex 2 (as above)
