Theres SO much buzz around this film. It looks quite good tbh. Filmed in the same way as Blair Witch (single camera) and very cheaply. $15,000 :o It is also the most profitable independant film of all time. Also apparently people have been seen leaving the cinemas cos they found it too scary...

cant believe this is the first thread on this.

but yeah, epic hype, was trending on twitter for ages.

looks good, maybe a bit too hyped, its not really living up to the hype on rotten tomatoes.

It's not exactly an unfamiliar concept... Anyone ever seen a little-seen BBC drama called "Ghost Watch..." ?? It was actually done as a "real time" TV show with actual BBC presenters playing themselves and basically it was a faked haunting.. Bloody good and scary it was.... Miles better (and, ironically, more realistic) than crap like "Most Haunted".....

Really want to watch this, it's situations like that which actually scare me..
This scared the hell out of me tonight :(

This scared the hell out of me tonight :(

Try watching the TRAILER at 3am and then having your dad run down the stairs and hear random banging around your house o.O

Seen it a few weeks ago and it's not that scary, it did have its moment where it made me jump but that about it. I wouldn't bother spending money to go see it just wait till its on the telly :)

Hmm the ending wasn't to good though...

I loved this, and found it genuinely terrifying. It forces you to watch each shadow, expecting to see something, but then catches you off balance with something else.

This is the only film that has really scared me. Ever.

Thought the ending was $h!te... didnt really like it that much....it was hyped way too much...plus i dont believe in ghosts anyway

There's another ending?!

OMG. I just shat myself. :( I really enjoyed this though. But I agree the ending (the one where

the police shoot her

) was a bit crap and unrealistic. On the whole though, I honestly thought it was realistic and very well done. Really enjoyed it at the same time of being scared bloody shitless! LOL

The part that crapped me up the most was

the bit where the demon or whatever drags her out of the bed. I wasn't expecting her to be dragged all across the hall! LOL

I was seriously looking forward to this.... I mean, REALLY looking forward to it.... But, the inescapable dawned on me as I was watching this.... That is, that this film is a poorly-acted, overhyped BORE...... I mean, sorry, if you cant get the acting right in a film like this, then it falls down completely, because you have to totally believe in the characters and be empathetic towards them... The actors in "Cloverfield" were believable, the actors in "The Last Broadcast" were believable, the actors in "Rec" were believable.... Here, there was just nothing credible about the actors, about the set up, about really anything....
I WANNA SEE THE BODY THROW ENDING PLEASEEE SOMEONE LINK!!!
I too would like to have a link if anybody has been successful in finding one ^_^

I'm much in the view of this film as Scott is.

I'M SO SAD, GENUINELY, as everyone made it sound like something new and refreshing for a change. I just found it appallingly predictable, quite a good concept though. I kind of wish they explored the whole daemon [not sure which spelling to make there] thing a bit more though? It's probably just me, but I found the beginning waffled on for a bit too long, and I just wanted to know why it had those weird bird footprints!! ):

I loved how most people in the cinema shat themselves, yet, come the ending, all you could hear were bellows of "OMGZ MAN DAT FILM WOZ SO $h!tE INNIT!?". LOL. I wish I'd watched it in my house as opposed to the cinema, that would've been a bit of a lot more creepier I think...

Was supposed to watch this last night but instead im going on Tuesday since i have no college the next day :D
Going to watch this in Cinema on Wednesday (2 for 1 etc...) and see what it's like in the cinema, but I have a feeling actually watching it on your own, on the laptop and in the dark is alot scarier LOL. (Also to see the ending too )

To be fair, you could be right.... It's prob one of those films that would be better off on TV or Cable than in a cinema...
