True. We don't have many successful UK girl groups at the minute. I can only think of three - Girls Aloud, the ladies and The Saturdays. But if you look closely, they're all so similar at this point in terms of image and the quality of music. Girls Aloud had success with their last album, but they had great marketing and their songs were kind of catchy.

The ladies were trying to keep up with an image that they didn't need to. If you look closely over the years, they went from stepping out in casual clothing, minimum make-up, etc during the first few albums and then it gradually picked up until they're at where they are now - wearing tight leather trousers, tight tops, full on make-up, big hair, etc doing choreographed dancing and making raunchy music videos. They don't need to do that - even this latest line-up because they DO have decent voices. At this point, they're just like any other girl group doing something that's been done a million times before. It's boring, unoriginal and tiring.

They could still come back. The buying public is so fickle. They just need to try and tap into the earlier sounds of the Sugababes & what made THOSE line-ups stand out from the rest of the girl groups. Everything from the music to the image, sound and even song messages were fresh and different in the first three or four albums.

Jeez.

That's only a few thousand sales at least?

Ouch...

that's awful ! :s

I'm pretty sure they won't even release C&B

If that,

We'll be on somewhere around 15-17k at the end of this week.

Real Girl looks like a success compared to this

Hell, 'GHOSTS' looks like a success - and Siobhan couldn't sell that even if she gave it away for free!

Wow. I expected their album to do bad...but not this bad. Yikes.

Well.. at least, Ghosts had a few good reviews ^_^

Yeah. I'm just kidding. That album didn't sell because the music was bad. It gained her some of the best reviews in her life (comparison to Kate Bush = huge compliment). Her label just didn't have a clue how to promote an artist like her.

But that aside, Sugababes shouldn't be going through this. There's no excuse from her team as to why they dropped the ball. They need shooting.

lol, look at me predicting a slow drop :P. #35 is very painful. I think it's highly unnecessary to release C&B. they should start working on their new album.
This is completely awful. I don't know what they can do now...I think they may as well go for She's A Mess(most likely to be a run away success) or Miss Everything and hope for the best. Also promote like hell
It's dropped 21 places to #35

down to number 35 in the midweeks, and i think it will be extremely lucky to be even top 40 on sunday.

This is what i mean about reading people.

:/

There is no need for repetition of information.

YES YES YES, apparently its been confirmed on radio that Miss Everything will be the fourth single, there is hope for a hit single at least still.

I hope you're right. ^_^

I find it sad to say that I'm actully quite pleased Sweet 7 has only dropped one place since yesterday. :drama:

YES! Miss Everything is my favorite! It's definitely the smartest release. It is unlikely to really raise the sales of S7 though.

Ridiculous if true. It's an awful song that won't sell their album at all.

Yeh but at the moment they need a big hit. Album sales can be for the 5th single(if they get there). I think they're on thier last life now, unless this goes top5(at least) it will be bye bye Sugababes. I think the label need to know that they are still able to score hits(though Miss Everything won't be a measure of the Sugababes(which could be a good or bad thing)).
I dont think anything will turn around the album, so a hit single is there only chance of staying relevant, Miss Everything is easily the next best single to release. Then finish with No More You.
