Posted November 19, 200915 yr Pot A (top seeds): South Africa, Italy, Spain, Brazil, England, Argentina, Germany and the cheaters... ehem, France. Pot B: Portugal, Netherlands, Denmark, Greece, Slovakia, Slovenia, Serbia, Switzerland Pot C: Côte D'Ivoire, Ghana, Cameroon, Nigeria, Algeria, Paraguay, Uruguay, Chile Pot D: Japan, North Korea, South Korea, Australia, New Zealand, USA, Mexico, Honduras
November 19, 200915 yr Author A lot of comebacks North Korea - absent since 1966 Honduras and New Zealand - absent since 1982 Algeria - absent since 1986 Chile - absent since 1998 Serbia and Slovakia are the two newcomers, although they both had been in a World Cup before as part of Yugoslavia/Serbia & Montenegro and Czechoslovakia respectively. Only 18 (19 if you count Serbia) of the 32 qualfied nations were in the WC 2006.
November 19, 200915 yr LOL at how South Africa are top seeds as well. They'll probably go straight out in the group stages...
November 19, 200915 yr LOL at how South Africa are top seeds as well. They'll probably go straight out in the group stages... Yeah they're only top seeds because they're hosts! Worst group possible on paper I think is: Brazil, Netherlands, Ivory Coast and USA/Australia
November 21, 200915 yr Hope the cheating Froggie b'astards get kicked out in Round One...... Fukkin' cheating scum have no business even being there..... <_< And YES, this is my Irish heritage showing through.....

December 2, 200915 yr Sky News are billing the England 'group of death' as: England France USA Cote d'Ivoire Frankly, I'd rather have USA than Australia/Mexico/Japan...
December 2, 200915 yr Sky News are billing the England 'group of death' as: England France USA Cote d'Ivoire Frankly, I'd rather have USA than Australia/Mexico/Japan... That group was also being cited by the BBC as the worst possible scenario with New Zealand and Algeria as the best possible draw. Certainly the fact that only the top teams are seeded makes a "group of death" fairly likely.
December 2, 200915 yr Hope the cheating Froggie b'astards get kicked out in Round One...... Fukkin' cheating scum have no business even being there..... <_< And YES, this is my Irish heritage showing through..... You do realise Ireland werent even winning the match don't you?
December 2, 200915 yr You do realise Ireland werent even winning the match don't you? Actually they were 1-0. Had the scoreline remained like that it would have gone to penalties which Ireland have a good record at. In contrast France's record at penalties is marginally better than England. So I know whom I think would have been the strong favourites to win a penalty shoot out. PP7kuz8R0Ag Ireland asked for 33rd World Cup place - Sepp Blatter's response - laughing at the injustice that has occurred FIFA = Fraudulant International French Assistance.
December 2, 200915 yr There was never any chance of Ireland getting a 33rd place. There is no way FIFA could have scheduled the additional fixtures. The FIA knew that but they obviously want to be seen to be doing all they can to correct an injustice. Of course, if the same thing had happened to England we would have been demanding the FA did everything possible but, realistically, we would have known it was futile.
December 3, 200915 yr Author http://uk.eurosport.yahoo.com/03122009/58/...-world-cup.html Charlize Theron rocks! :cheer:
December 3, 200915 yr I would laugh too if I was Sepp Blatter. I hate the guy, but come on, asking for a THIRTY THIRD place? The whole idea is ludacris, and even though Ireland have been the victims on injustice, I couldn't help but laugh when I heard what the Irish FA were asking FIFA...

In all seriousness though, it was a stupid request.
