November 19, 200915 yr Author Am I the only one who thinks that music generations in the future will think how the hell did Rule The World not get to #1 ahead of Bleeding Love (like when Robson & Jerome stopped Wonderwall in the 1990s or Ultravox - Vienna was stopped by Joe Dolce's Shaddup Your Face in the 1980s).Nah. I think they'll think "How did it not make number 1?" but then get reminded that it was stopped in fact by the far superior (imo of course :P) 'Bleeding Love' and then they'll think "Ohhh yeah" LOL.

As much as I love RTW, nope BL deserved every week and more. ^_^

November 19, 200915 yr Do you think it's about time the BBC brought back TOTP. They need to put some sort of music show on TV. I know there's jools holland but that's not on every week.
November 19, 200915 yr The fact that Simon Cowell said he would not put The Beatles through to the Final stages of the X-Factor tells you everything you need to know about music and that pathetic excuse for a music TV show today. Macca = the greatest melodic songwriter of the 20th Century bar none, even if his voice is nowadays shot compared to his 1960s & 1970s heyday.

He is only interested in the wannabes who will basically do anything to get famous and who can sing unchained melody.
November 19, 200915 yr Well overall that was one of the best gigs I've seen in recent years. Diana gig anyone? Only didn't enjoy Muse, Paolo and Dizzee. Expect this to be an annual event now! :D
November 19, 200915 yr Author I hope if they do, we have some more brilliant duets  I agree with Ryan but the only acts i didn't like were Paolo, Shirley & Dizzee.
November 19, 200915 yr I liked nearly all of it, apart from Dizzee interrupting Shirley which was awful even Chasing Cars seemed alright to me  the standouts for me were Take That and Lily, and Leona doing Run
November 19, 200915 yr I loved all the acts apart from Dizzee, Paolo and Cheryl. Run  Chasing Cars  and Lily Allen with Take That are my highlights of the show. I really wanted Take That and Robbie to perform together on a track, but they didn't :snif:
November 19, 200915 yr My highlights of a 'brilliant night': Shirley Bassey Lily Allen & Take That doing WHK / Shine Take That - RTW - frigging brilliant But ... my hat goes off to: Sir Paul McCartney ... he did some of my Beatles Faves - Back in the USSR ... but especially 'Get Back' - which he rocked the Brits in 2008! But his Hey Jude with the early backing vocals of Take That ... just brilliant! What a freaking fantastic night of music! Hats off to everyone involved. Norma
November 19, 200915 yr Expect this to be an annual event now! :D Only if Barlow arranges it again ... he seems to know what would tick 'most' of the buttons. Having said that ... no! I'd rather he concentrated on Take That for a few years yet! Norma
November 19, 200915 yr My favourite performances were Dame Shirley Bassey, Annie Lennox, Take That singing RTW and Sir Paul McCartney. :D
November 19, 200915 yr I was massively surprised that the BBC (or was it Gary Barlow) managed to put on such a fantastic show! Definitely one of the best music shows I've seen on TV in a long time!
November 19, 200915 yr I had my reservations about tonight ... but on the whole ... it was .... pretty darned good! Plus ... we should find out tomorrow how much this enterprise raised towards the total ... between 9 and 9.30 pm. Ticket sales alone raised well over half a million but hopefully with pledges during the televised event it may make more than a million. Norma Edited November 19, 200915 yr by Norma_Snockers
November 20, 200915 yr I loved all the acts apart from Cheryl. What a surprise. My favourite performances were Leona, Cheryl and Snow Patrol. Most of them were amazing though. Worst has to be Mika and Paolo Nutini. :puke2:
