If this is true, I am literally ROFLing at the last one, just so I can see what TIP has to say about it.

LMFAO! Same here LOLOLOL.

Although people know my thoughts on one of the acts, i'm interested to see what they do with the finalist! :D

Here is what I said earlier when this rumour first came around:

I think Paul really needs to get in touch with his fanbase on his official website, as the reaction to this news story makes Keisha's sacking from the Sugababes; and Take That reuniting with Robbie as a five-piece seem popular in comparison.

My goodness it makes marrying Heather Mills seem trivial .... :hithead:

I'll get my further thoughts in advance of the occasion:

To further back up what a disastrous PR move this will be check out this thread on Digitalspy:

One of the things I admired about Sir Paul McCartney was how he signed the winner of the 1968 Opportunity Knocks series (the equivalent of Britain's Got Talent) Mary Hopkins and turned her into a big star via the Beatles own Apple Records.

Also in stark contrast to Simon Cowell he donated in the mid 1990s £20 million (£30 million in today's money) of his own money to build in a derelict part of his home town the Liverpool Institute of Performing Arts which opened in 1996.

I find his decision to appear on this show to be idiotic as he has done much to repair his reputation within the media and the music critics over the last 5/6 years after that marriage by making an album with Radiohead producer Nigel Godrich; and an album with the equally credible Youth, and had three well received albums on the bounce with the music critics. Furthermore I admired his stance (having been apparently encouraged by a conversation with Radiohead's Thom Yorke & Blur/Gorillaz frontman Damon Albarn) at a Music awards ceremony to withdraw his post Beatles songs from being used in the X-Factor; and he has frequently been in a war of words with Simon "Musical Cancer" Cowell; including appearing on the BBC2 Arts programme Late Review of The Year and nominating the anti-talent show track Camille - Money Note as his favourite song of that year; but more hilariously appearing on the Peter Kay Reality show satire "Britain's Got The Pop Factor ..." and allowing his two most infamous solo songs "Ebony & Ivory" and "We All Stand Together" to be ridiculed so brilliantly.

Oh well if he does appear, then he will have lost one album sale on the Monday after the Final of his new album. But hey I've only bought every single Beatles and post Beatles album he has done to date so what does it matter.

Whilst I will be cursing in the Take That and Robbie Williams forums, as he was reported to have discussed the issue of appearing on the X-Factor backstage at the Royal Albert Hall Children In Need concert with Gary Barlow and Robbie Williams who have both appeared on the show. Plus he must be concluding (wrongly) that if "cool" acts like Kings Of Leon; U2, Coldplay & Oasis allow their songs to be butchered on the X-Factor then why should not he.

Tbh I don't see why he shouldn't appear on the X-Factor, it would totally introduce him into a new generation of a TV Audience.

And that would be one amazing final!
