Why do people download the same Christmas songs every damn year? Where are the likes of Dana/Showaddywaddy/Gilbert O`Sullivan etc. That was the kind of stuff we listened too. I mean you only have to switch on the radio to hear Mariah/Wizzard/Slade/Pogues...4 songs I personally detest! "I Wish It Could Be Christmas Everyday" is probably the worst, and just a remake of their previous hit "Angel Fingers". Anyway outside the Physical top 20 lurks Ian Brown/Taio Cruz/Timbaland/30 Seconds To Mars/50 Cent. What a shame Ian missed out. Note: Some figures are not exactly correct on some points, so I haven`t included them. For instance some people suggest that Kate Bush sold 75,000 in 1980 with "December Will Be Magic Again". If that is true, then the Barron Knights would have sold much more with "Never Mind The Presents". So, we are working on it!

December 4, 200915 yr Author Thanks Dave! I know you say the figures are too close to give, but do you think Rihanna will be number 1 by Sunday? In a 3 words...I hope Not! ;) But we don`t include the dvd sales in our chart. So, Peter has sold much less for us.
December 4, 200915 yr Thanks for the info on what has been a relatively unpredictable week chartwise.
December 4, 200915 yr I would have thought New Year - Sugababes would have counted in your Christmas song chart, as it mentions Christmas in the song and is quite a Christmassy song. It's sold 84,170.
December 4, 200915 yr I love the retro Human League - Don't You Want Me, all time favourite Xmas #1 single, shame they don't make good music like that no more. Excellent tracks by The Police, Ultravox, Soft Cell, Kim Wilde  And for those members that don't remember The Tweets here is the Birdie Song. qeswZaReE0I Don't forget to do the dance moves :heehee:
December 4, 200915 yr Author I would have thought New Year - Sugababes would have counted in your Christmas song chart, as it mentions Christmas in the song and is quite a Christmassy song. It's sold 84,170. It may mention Christmas (Last Year you went away at Christmas), but it`s hardly Christmas really. I mean if you include that, then we could include such songs as Kiss Me & Stephen Tin Tin Duffy because it mentions "Callers like it was Christmas Eve". It has to have a Christmas connection in the title really, and Sugababes would be New Year with this title, as in "This Perfect Year" along with Dina Carroll etc. It certainly does get difficult to compile though because like you say, you have to determine what really is Christmas or not. We don`t include East 17/Frankie Goes To Hollywood or stuff like that either as they cash inon Chrismas with snow & Nativity scenes etc, but don`t mention Christmas anywhere. It also is hard to go under #60 in the list because figures of sales are half cut, and questionable. I question earlier that Kate Bush sold 75,000 and also questioned the fact it wasn`t exactly Christmas either...It`s December based, with a line "Saint Nicholas down the chimney" but not all the way Christmas.
