December 4, 200915 yr EVEN IF YOU HAVE THE TRACK ALREADY...LET'S FACE IT MOST OF US DO... I don't... in fact I've never heard of it *skips to Youtube* However I am all in favour of stopping X Factor getting the Christmas number one  Edited December 4, 200915 yr by Charli
December 4, 200915 yr I read about this on Sky News...these campaigns have been done to death and never work the Spice Girls - Stop campaign had tens of thousands of members and the song barely scraped back into the charts... it's preferable to Miley Cyrus' original of The Climb being xmas #2 I guess, not that I expect that song will have anywhere near the halo effect that Alexandra had on Jeff Buckley last year

December 4, 200915 yr Author SPAM ALERT! Not really Joao, if I spammed I dont think I would make a very good mod would I? would seriously say something about how this forum is run if I was a spammer, this is srs shizzle. I don't... in fact I've never heard of it you might be a bit shocked. I read about this on Sky News...these campaigns have been done to death and never work the Spice Girls - Stop campaign had tens of thousands of members and the song barely scraped back into the charts... it's preferable to Miley Cyrus' original of The Climb being xmas #2 I guess, not that I expect that song will have anywhere near the halo effect that Alexandra had on Jeff Buckley last year I know its been done to death, and I didnt really care until now, but its getting publicity at quite a fast rate, I still dont think it will beat x factor, but with it being on for example Sky News, gives it rather a bit of chance to make it high in the charts, would will be a big middle finger to what we see as number 1 every week and the $h!tness of the x factor.
December 4, 200915 yr I heard about the RATM protest. But I hope certain rumours are true, and I'm praying that the saviour who waved his backside in protest to the grossly offensive Michael Jackson "Christ like" BRIT awards performance in the 1990s is trying to orchestrate a cover of his former band's spoof protest single against the original Pop Idol single, this time using real contemporary music artists who don't like Simon Cowell and the X-Factor to be recorded this weekend instead of impersonators: "Oh sing your song .... like all the sad imitators that got it so wrong ..." Now 25 years after the original Band Aid single and video, I would love to see a cover of this with the likes of Kasabian, Muse, Florence, Lily, La Roux, Radiohead, Blur, Little Boots, etc ....
December 4, 200915 yr Oh dear. It's pointless tbh. 80,000 or so people are not going to do much against the 18+million people who are advertised the Single during the X Factor Final. Can't they protest getting the original to #1 :kink:.
December 4, 200915 yr This seriously isnt going to work because this website is soo un popular and X Factor is soooo popular. Stacey Soloman WILL have the Christmas #1.

December 4, 200915 yr Im all for getting a song to number 1 instead of X factor Unfortunately we all know its not gonna work- and we will all have to bear Joe McElderrys droopy version of 'The Climb' (plus the original behind it) at the top of the charts- Im as sad as you are :(
December 4, 200915 yr Author This seriously isnt going to work because this website is soo un popular and X Factor is soooo popular. Stacey Soloman WILL have the Christmas #1. not being funny, but you think this is the ase of operations? I do not think facebook is unpopular.
December 4, 200915 yr C'mon! please  How many times has this been attempted for one thing or another, it's embarassing to think that people actually believe they're in with a chance! X-Factor Xmas No.1s have become the inevertable now days!

C'mon! please  How many times has this been attempted for one thing or another, it's embarassing to think that people actually believe they're in with a chance! X-Factor Xmas No.1s have become the inevertable now days! Yup it is embarassing that they have confidence this will pull off. I doubt the Song will even chart...
December 4, 200915 yr I saw RATM at T In THe Park in 2008. So not my cup of tea. I wouldn't download it anyway, but it's not gonna work. I'd be impressed if they managed to get it into the top40 tbh
December 5, 200915 yr This seriously isnt going to work because this website is soo un popular and X Factor is soooo popular. Stacey Soloman WILL have the Christmas #1. Doubt it, I reckon Joe will though.
December 5, 200915 yr The Muppets are more likely to cause an upset than Rage it has to be said.... But either/or is certainly preferable to Cowell the C/unt dominating yet again.... He's a cheating sack of sh"te, far worse a scumbag than Pete Waterman EVER was, Waterman you could pretty much take-it-or-leave-it, there is something very..."Fascistic" about Cowell I think, it's actaully quite worrying because now it's bordering on Propaganda what he's doing, he's as bad as Murdoch.... I genuinely believe that shooting is too good for Simon Cowell for his unforgiveable crimes against Taste and Good Music, I think we should have a Death Penalty for these sorts of Crimes against Humanity..... So, yes, Rage or The Muppets for Xmas number one, absolutely....
December 5, 200915 yr This seriously isnt going to work because this website is soo un popular and X Factor is soooo popular. Stacey Soloman WILL have the Christmas #1. Are you just plain daft mate.....? How is Facebook "unpopular"...? What is it with you Cowell bummers....? I suppose the over 7/8 million hits within two days for The Muppets on "Youtube" was "unpopular" as well...... Fukk Cowell.. Fukk The (e)X(crement) Factor.....
December 5, 200915 yr Sadly most of you on here probaly perfer The X Factor to be number one. But if you didnt fall into the music industry's horrifying business over art pilosphy by buying Simon Cowell another mansion, then maybe you should buy this track instead of the X Factor single. I don't particularly like that the X Factor single will be heading to number 1, but I don't get how these rival campaigns that crop up each year are any less cynical or more creative. I know the song, I like the song, and I even have a copy of it somewhere. I'd be a mug to buy it again. If it's all about art, then buy the music you like when you like and don't care about the charts. Rage Against the Machine are already loaded, but I'm sure they and their marketing team will love the free publicity that comes with this campaign. I don't usually buy the X Factor winning single and I definitely don't buy it for the sake of it, but if I like it enough, then I'll buy it. It's unlikely I'm going to like it enough to buy it, but I'll make that judgement after I've heard it.
