December 16, 200915 yr Joe was APPEARING in the South Shields HMV - is why they sold so much. Supposed to have been 2000 fans at least just so see him at the time he appeared.. There was a queue of 2000 this morning for 500 wristbands at 8am! Far more this evening when he actually arrived, South Shields was supposedly crammed to the rafters. But the sales figures are likely to have been mirrored across the NE as a whole.
December 16, 200915 yr Was a signing session; http://www.jarrowandhebburngazette.com/lat...elds.5912375.jp i would say the 8,000 from south shields then is massively higher than any other hmv, it is his home town and he was there. the poster earlier who said it had sold around 100 copies at the hmv they work at seems about right, though not sure how big an hmv it was and where it was.
December 17, 200915 yr For the first time, I'm beginning to think the RATM campaign might actually work... Given their huge iTunes lead, and the underwhelming (in XF terms) sales of Joe M, record-buyers might actually stick it to Cowell! :w00t:
December 17, 200915 yr RATM have no real chance of beating X-Factor to number 1 this week. I have just spoken to my bookie, and he is only offering 1/4 on Joe. This, in a 2 horse race, is what's known as a 'dead cert'. Sorry to burst anyone's bubble, but I think most music 'insiders' already know this but they want to keep the 'illusion' alive. After all, if they can keep the hype going, it's more money in the pocket for them isn't it?
December 17, 200915 yr Interview and performance on BBC Radio 5 Live: GiiQPqmYE1A Amazing :D I like how they led them on for a while then unleashed, BBC shouldn't have even tried to censor them tbh. Hate the bitch at the end who says 'buy Joe's record', surely BBC aren't allowed to say stuff like that, should have just apologised and got on with it.
December 17, 200915 yr RATM is still ahead of Joe!!!!!!!! Im actually starting to think that they actually can do it, as Joe will have to sell a lot to catch up with them
December 17, 200915 yr Author Interview and performance on BBC Radio 5 Live: GiiQPqmYE1A Amazing :D I like how they led them on for a while then unleashed, BBC shouldn't have even tried to censor them tbh. Hate the bitch at the end who says 'buy Joe's record', surely BBC aren't allowed to say stuff like that, should have just apologised and got on with it. After listening to this earlier today I am supporting this campaign EVEN MORE. It is great that Tom addressed the whole same record label thing (so haha to you Scott). And it was great to hear Zack say something about it too. And it was even better hearing them perform after it has been well over a year since their last performance, so it shows that the RATM reunion isnt over, they are still together as a band, just obviously busy with different projects. I found it halirous how they seemed surprised that Rage DIDNT DO WHAT THEY TOLD THEM, I think the fact Zack went on and continued to do the 'f*** You...' but dispite being told not to still shows that Rage are still a band that will fight, and sends out a strong message of the anarchism of the song. I think the 'buy joe's record' bit was a joke though Ashford, but still should of said it, I love after the forth 'f*** you' you hear a guy going 'getridofit'. To be honest the fact Zack de la Rocha, Tom Morello, Brad Wilk and Tim Commerford were all in the same room today and played 'Killing In The Name' together is much more exciting than them getting christmas number 1.
December 17, 200915 yr I think it is all very silly! People have their issues with Simon Cowell so they try to sabotage Joe's song - it makes no sense! All the people buying RATM are putting money in Simons pockets as he works with them anyway. I do hope Joe is number one for Christmas he is so lovely and has worked so hard. He deserves it, and that has nothing to do with Simon!
December 17, 200915 yr And it was even better hearing them perform after it has been well over a year since their last performance, so it shows that the RATM reunion isnt over, That's not a surprise, they will probably try to cash in as much money and popularity as possible, not with this song obviously (cause they know they have to give their profits to charity so people won't slag them off), but I'm sure in 2010 they're gonna have many releases on the back of this campaign.
December 17, 200915 yr Well, Joe's song is Simon Cowell's song so there's not much we can do to save Joe from the mix, this would've happened if it was Olly or Stacey winning too. I'm sick of answering the "they're both on Sony!" question, see Tom Morello's answer in the video for the horses' mouth answer. :P And yeah, poor Joe's worked so hard... over the past 4 months singing other people's songs when it's all planned out for him on a weekly TV show with millions and millions watching. Not like those Rage Against The Machine guys who got their careers handed to them on a plate. Oh wait...

Giving money to charity being a cover up so they can cash in? I am sorry but I am f***ing sick of having to put up with the amount of people in this thread who have absolutly no background knowledge on Rage at all. Quite clearly you have even failed to read the band name. Do you even understand what 'Rage Against The Machine' means? They have no intentions of writing new material, they reunited in 2007, and there hasnt been any, do you know why, BECAUSE RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE ARE NOT IN MUSIC TO MAKE MONEY. They couldnt give a crap about money or popularity, this is what you fail to get. Where are people who understand? Ashford, TiP, Grimly. They get it. They wont be releasing stuff off the back of this campaign, I wouldnt be surprised if they were not in the same room together again for 5 years. f***ing hell, they are probaly the 4 most anti-capitalist people on this earth. If you don't understand Rage Against The Machine please do not post things like 'they will probaly cash in on this' BECAUSE THEY WONT. Rage Against The Machine are not like other bands, they are not like Simon Cowell or Joe McElderry who are in the music business for the money. Music isnt a business to them, it is a way for them to get their messages across.

December 17, 200915 yr Author cus obviously joes never going to release a single again and along with simon not try and cash in as much as possible on the x factor  it doesnt because Rage wont be doing anything to 'cash in' they never have and never will. Seriously out of everything Bert has posted in this thread, all the immatureness etc, that was the worst. f***ing understand Rage before you post things about them.
December 17, 200915 yr Please don't call me an "idiot" or "immature" again. I am entitled to my opinion, and you have no judging to give on what I think. Thank you.
December 17, 200915 yr Author Please don't call me an "idiot" or "immature" again. I am entitled to my opinion, and you have no judging to give on what I think. Thank you. I am sorry yoy are a idiot, and I called you immature based on the way you acted in the earlier pages of this thread. Go ahead and report my post, I dont give a $h!t, I tell it how it is. You are entitled your opinon yes, but you didnt give your opinon, you gave a very very very very very very wrong view on Rage Against The Machine. I understand you dont like the band, but maybe you might want to look into them, look into what they STAND FOR, before saying something like they would 'cash in' on this. If you know the band Rage Against The Machine, and think they would 'cash in' on something like this, you are quite clearly a moron.
December 17, 200915 yr I don't take insults very well. You don't have to judge other people's intelligence. Calling me "an idiot" is not allowed and it is not open to debate. Stop it now please.

Stop it now please. I am sorry you dont take insults very well, here is an easily solution to get round it. Dont say idiotic things, I wont call you an idiot :) Calling you an idiot isnt allowed? You know I am a die hard rage fan right, you have heard the song havent you? Yes it is an open debate, but we are not debating, you straight out said Rage would 'cash in', that is clearly the most opposite thing a band like Rage would do, did you even read my reply. 'stop it now'? hmm let me think about that... FUCK YOU BERT, I WONT DO WHAT YOU TELL ME. moron.
December 17, 200915 yr I am sorry you dont take insults very well, here is an easily solution to get round it. Who does? Norma
December 17, 200915 yr The whole reason pathetic fights like this happen is because people take this whole campaign way too seriously. -_-
