I think a lot of people are misinterpreting what this campaign is about, for most people, its not about doing a young geordie out of a number one, nobody has anything against joe in particular.

 

Its all about the hope that someone beating the xfactor winner will finally bring a proper xmas no1 competition again, some of the best songs of all time have been xmas number ones, none of them being xfactor winning songs.

 

Joe being no1 will have no effect on how well he does in the future, its all just a silly charade that has got tiresome. The winner of the same show obviously going no1 every year. Its boring basically.

This thread is hilarious! I love it! I was feeling really depressed and miserable today (long, long story) but this has cheered me up no end. I honestly don't mind who's number 1 on Sunday now as long as its not X-Factor.

You clearly showed me you have f*** all knowledge of Rage because you think they would 'cash in' on this, was that your opinon? cos you were speaking of it like it was fact to you, it was neither opinon nor fact, it was a prediction and a very very very very very false prediction seeing as it is Rage Against the Machine. They will never cash in on anything.

Exactly, you can make music without a major company behind you. Signing to Sony was the easiest option at that time, I would have thought that an "anti-the-machine" band would never sell its soul to Sony and would rather work hard with independent labels or on its own.

I have to say Bert, that you did make a rather general comment about RATM without having any prior knowledge of the situation whatsoever. You know nothing about RATM and if you did, you would realise that they won't have an album out in 2010!!

 

In my opinion, the Joe McElderry fans are much worse than the RATM fans... They are so much more ready to attack people who buy KITN because it doesn't 'deserve' number one. Yes guys... Joe McElderry, having gone through four months of singing live with an abundance of publicity, truly deserves that number one spot(!). I don't care if any of the money from KITN goes to Simon Cowell, because the point of the group isn't to become an anti-Cowell campaign, it is to make the Christmas Number One race more exciting!! I don't care if RATM don't get that number one, because at least this week we have been held in suspense over who will get it!!

 

Just to clarify, however... RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE - KILLING IN THE NAME for CHRISTMAS NUMBER ONE!! (I can't stand the X Factor, moreso this year with that ridiculous new set-up - first auditions with an audience, then a Sunday Results Show!! First year I haven't watched it eagerly... and I thought Joe was more of a West End guy... Can't see him selling much!!)

this is very aimed at me. and lol thing is you clearly dont know me. I am not a sheep, I am the shepard. I have been into Rage Against The Machine for about 5 years, own all their albums, and have seen them live, all before this campaign started, I am not saying there isnt sheep. Did I say it is of a 'cooler' genre. No so dont speak $h!t like Bert, you are just as ignorant as the sheep.
