#77 on itunes so far, i hope it climbs as the week goes on, but im worried this wont do so well, i hope i'm wrong though.

Up to #59 now. (Big jump!)

Not surprised to see it bombing at all, in all honesty. :( I want it to do well as I'll always have a tiny place in my heart for alphabeat, but it's just so weak in comparison to previous material :(

I really don't think it's weak, it's different, but DJ or Heart Failure would have been a better choice for UK single I guess. I have a feeling it could scrape top 50 by the end of the week, but I'm not sure about top 40 :( I hope they don't cancel or delay the album...
Well its not in the top40 midweeks today. Its not an awful song but isnt as good as some of their other stuff.
It could be tomorrow :cheer: I think it will be by Friday, but i'm not sure it will stay there until Sunday...
#30 on iTunes, about 40 places higher than I thought it would peak :o good performance on Alan Titchmarsh too, I didn't even know that they were supposed to be on it, but literally I was flicking through the channels and they were just starting :D
Is it on YouTube at all? I had no idea it was on. Even though I'm on their mailing list -_-

Ehh, ALRIGHT enough song but not really anything great. Truly bargain-basement video as well. I'd imagine it's only doing well as a result of supporting GaGa?

I reckon Chess or Heart Failure would've been the better choices, but there's really nothing on the album that screams SMASH. The Spell only ever sounded like a top ten at best, and once that didn't deliver...well, all I'm saying is that they really need to re-evaluate after this album. Quality-wise overall this album's FAR better than the last one, but it's missing anthems along the lines of Fascination and Boyfriend...

This Is Alphabeat was legendary, but the original eponymous Danish album (from which a couple of great tracks were removed) was perhaps even better. Few albums get off to as good as start as Fantastic Six, Fascination, 10,000 Nights and Boyfriend  Had Rubber Boots and Nothing But My Baby been replaced by The Hours, Ocean Blue and Into The Jungle from the Danish original but with the UK mixes of the singles and UK running order, it would have been damn near perfection

I do love the new album a lot, particularly DJ which is the song closest to the first album in sound, but like you say, there are no life changing songs on it in my opinion, like the singles from This Is Alphabeat were.

I will admit that, but the album is of stunning quality overall. The Spell and DJ have anthemic qualities, maybe Heart Failure too. Trouble is the style of music they were influenced by this time round was much more throwaway in the first place. It's just the nature of early 90s music.

By the way, I just found out that DJ was the second single in Denmark  I think they got the countries mixed up tbh :(

A very meh song - not as good as the film. I've lost interest in this band - such a waste of a great name.

Nevertheless, as someone mentioned earlier, they have at least opened my eyes to Sound of Arrows (their remix transforms it), who I'm very excited about. Not least because Rich X has been fraternising with them.

always a good thing, M.A.G.I.C. was one of the best songs of 2009

Yep, M.A.G.I.C. is, well, magic :magic: :kink:

Wouldn't it be awesome if they got SOA to produce the third album?

It would be stunning I'm sure  they need to release their own album first! all I have is a series of E.P's :(
I'm sure some artists that do remixes are effectively hawking their talents in hope of getting snapped up for the next record, while at the same time saying, "nice track but I would have done this, this, this ..." The SOAs version is ten-times more exciting and innovative, without compromising the song's chart potential. I'd like to think Alphabeat recognise this and step up their game next time around.

for anyone going to GaGa tonight or tomorrow, i.e. me and Tom and others I'm sure - this is the runtime;

Doors open: 18:30

Semi-Precious Weapons: 19:30 - 19:50

Alphabeat: 20:00 - 20:20

Lady Gaga: 20:45

Finish: 22.45

Alphabeat only get 20 minutes :( 2 full hours of GaGa though :w00t:

Semi-Precious Weapons: http://www.myspace.com/semipreciousweapons

awful :puke:

That's cool. Semi-Precious Weapons are shite, I don't know what she sees in them (presumably she's shagging one of them ) I would much rather have 40 minutes of Alphabeat... But I'm glad there's plenty of Gaga. Cole is sort of hot at least...

Any idea if there will be any Alphabeat merch? I know there is some for SPW...

I still have and wear my Alphabeat t-shirt from two years ago, which is essentially the full alphabet in the style of the front cover of This Is Alphabeat

not sure if I'll have enough money for any merchandise, it's always ridiculously overpriced :(

Wow, that sounds utterly amazing. There was NO MERCH AT ALL at the Newcastle show

I'm going to get the programme for Gaga, but yeah I don't know if I'll have a lot more to throw around...
