Even if Joe is going to be #1 this week... who cares? Karaoke star on top of the charts with a Disney tune - For goodness sake!
Well the RATM song is no better than Joe's The Climb. I would back the campaign if it was for a christmas song. I thought that was the whole point of the campaign, to stop the XF hogging Xmas #1 but it may as well if a Xmas song/great song can't top the charts.
I do find the RATM muppets, who are downloading this song purely for no reason as intolerable as the XF fans who would just download anything by whoever wins.

Agree whole heartedly. The Rage campaign was badly thought out and missed the whole point of Christmas no1. the supporters argue we are all spoon fed what to buy by Simon cowell but following such a campaign makes then no different, being told what to buy and going along with it like sheep. Not a fan of George Michael but hey its a Christmas song so Go George go :P

And according to these RATM muppets we're the ignorant childish idiots for not joining in <_<

Yes, but as George Michael appeared on the X-Factor then he is as bad as the awful cover of an awful Disney song that will be #1 on Sunday.

Still I'm glad you are so happy that the Xmas charts are so predictable having been ruined by Simon Cowell's 4 month long ITV advert.

Hey that is why Radio 2 played the new edit of the Pet Shop Boys single (It Doesn't Often Snow At Christmas) with the Neil Tennant deadpan vocal delivery of the line "Joe McEldrey the festive number one" inserted in it .....

You are of course right about george Michael being on XFactor and thus making the most of the publicity afforded him. but surely it is this kind of publicity for established or semi-retired artists that makes the Christmas chart the most unpredictable of the year (with the obvious exception of the number1). Did anyone fancy their chances of predicting the songs that would make up the remainder of the top10 before Saturday or Sunday's show ?

Yes. Just by looking at the TV schedules with ITV's weekend programming and the acts appearing on said programmes, makes it more easier and boring to predict the Xmas charts than it has ever been in my lifetime.
