I do like Caesar, and am aware of it thanks to Popjustice yesterday but I really only like Robyn's chorus - I Blame Coco's vocals are rather irritating :(

 

still, it's a guaranteed top 5 - Robyn's the most consistent hit-producing artist in BJSC I think :o loved by all crowds and deservedly so :wub:

 

edit: although on the second listen even I Blame Coco's vocals are a lot more infectious :lol:

It's definitely a grower. I actually don't think it's a guaranteed Top 5 though, it's quite indie / less pop oriented than Robyn's usual work. I'm sure the fact that she's on it will get people to perhaps give it more of a listen but not necessarily get them to like it. I Blame Coco has quite deep/raspy vocals.

 

If it says anything though, I originally just thought it was rather meh, and now I can't get it out of my head.

 

And for the record, I discovered it before it was posted on Popjustice. ;o Hence me reserving Robyn a bit ago.

Still don't know what to send out of mine, Alicia would be very predictable of me. Marina is probably much cheaper now Radio 1 have C-Listed "Hollywood". I was expecting it to be her "Quicksand", rather than her "In For The Kill". Rox is a Sound Of artist, but she's probably not right for the BJSC. She's probably more Corinne Bailey Rae than VV Brown. Wolf Gang is too male.

Oh yes! I just assumed that this was as it's this contest last year that "Quicksand" won. Or was that XII, with "Under The Sheets" being the equivalent winner? Guess we should start looking for that Swedish song that's going to become a surprised top 3 hit.

 

Unfortunately I expect Ellie is more likely to do that. Apparently her album is due in June? I also saw her supporting Little Boots. People say Victoria needed more personality, Ellie was definitely the much quieter of the two, though that could be down to her being the support act.

 

On the other hand, Marina is on the same label as Little Boots, Ellie seems to be in more capable hands I think.
