December 20, 200915 yr It's a nice thought that from now on each year the music channels/radio stations have xmas number one count downs we'll be getting killing in the name instead of one more puppet who doesn't deserve to be remmembered to add to the previous few years.
December 20, 200915 yr Author Now, about that free gig lads....... see you there. when was the last time you saw them? infact how many times have you seen them and where? :o i bet you'll come out with 'oh yeah i was there when they did the PRMC protest at Lollpolloza' you and your epic history of seeing bands. you didnt see them last time round though did you?
December 20, 200915 yr I can't believe what I am hearing, I'm listening to Radio 1 right now and am hearing Tim Westwood tear into RATM and their campaign attacking their record as a nasty bullying attention seeking gimmick. I've heard it all now.

I've heard it all now. and since when can anyone take Tim Westwood seriously? the simple equation is, if Tim Westwood thinks it, think the opposite.
December 21, 200915 yr Author So what are the details of this free gig? Anything been even hinted yet? not hinted but I have seen two words, 'massive' and 'huge' it's gonna be insane. A lot of people want them to do a full tour aswell, cant see that happening, but I never thought they would reunite, I never thought they would get to number 1, I never thought they would do another show because of this, I was wrong on all accounts, so never say never. Anyway lets not think of it as a free gig, it's a victory gig. I'm still not over this win, I am wearing my RATM t-shirt today in honour. I also watched the dvd 'The Battle of Mexico City', really shows just how much of a good live band they are, how much they care for what they stand for, and how nuts the crowd goes when Rage play live. There is a reason they are one of my favourite bands ever, and I have never been so pleased as a fan since when I knew I was going to see them live, since I saw them live. Now hopefully I can relive it. Last night was a win for real music, not just winning the charts, but a win for music, f*** simon cowell, f*** the music industry, long live Rage Against The Machine.
December 21, 200915 yr Author I think Alec Empire put's it best on twitter: ALEC_EMPIRE RATM UK number1 is the best thing that happened in this creatively poor and ending decade of pop music... a new era is coming! ALEC_EMPIRE RATM No.1 means any time the industry throws $h!t at people, people can take action, despite any 'official' release plans...
December 22, 200915 yr The decade started and ended with heavy rock anti-establishment songs at number 1. Edited December 22, 200915 yr by tonyttt31

I've heard it all now. Tim Westwood IS a fukkin' Gimmick.... His whole "white boy 'rudeboy' patois" is a fukkin' JOKE... HE is a fukkin' JOKE..... Who do you think Sacha Cohen based Ali G on...? That's right Tim "w*n**r" Westwood......
December 22, 200915 yr I missed the debate on Joe's comments but I'll throw in my thoughts anyway. I don't actually have a problem with him saying he didn't like the track although he should probably have expressed it better - assuming the words are his and not The Sun's. What irritates me more is that the comments suggest that not only had he not heard Killing in the Name (fair enough, he's only young) but that they suggested he'd never heard anything by RATM or anything remotely like them. It sounds like Journey's Don't Stop Believing is his idea of heavy rock. At 18 I'd heard all sorts of different types of music. There were some types which I wasn't too keen to hear much of again but at least I'd heard them.
December 22, 200915 yr Author I got into RATM when I was like 12/13. although to be fair not everyone is as epic as me.
