42. Little Boots - New In Town [Peak: 7]

It probably wasn't the best option for a lead single, though it did sound like a hit to me. Maybe it was the shopping trolleys that ruined it for her? But, for me this is a fantastic track that deserved better in the UK charts, and she deserved better too, in general.

41. The Saturdays - Issues [Peak: 3]

I had to do my research, to check that this was actually released in 2009 - turns out it was, so it makes perfect sense to chart this. It was a tad corny, but it was still a really superb song, that showed exactly why I was a big fan of The Saturdays.

So that's all of them, expect that awful piece of trash, which I won't even bother listening to to make an opinion on it.

Theo :o it deserves to be heard, forget Into The Clouds, M.A.G.I.C. is a gazillion times better :kink:

my best BJSC entries always finish in 2nd place :heehee:

amazing chart Rob :D

Love both Boots & Saturdays.

Definetly agree about 'New In Town's peak too, and well just her in general tbh.

Yes, yes it is! M.A.G.I.C is so so so so much better than Into The Clouds.

Thanks Rich :cheer:

Little Boots really did deserve more of the sort of success that La Roux got, tbh. :(

Thanks Jack :cheer:

40. Katy Perry - Waking Up In Vegas [Peak: 1]

Well, in my opinion, Katy Perry is one of the best female artists of the past few years, and has created some tunes. Hot N Cold & I Kissed A Girl would've been high last year. This track from the amazing One Of The Boys, is yet another reason for me loving Katy, the video was amazingly funny, and the song was just... amazingly amazing - another #1 in this countdown!

39. Rihanna - Russian Roulette [Peak: 3]

A much more current track here, and a very different sound to the 'Umbrella' lady! But, it was definetly a good sound, though very dark. Having listened to Rated R though, I think there were better 1st singles, however, it's obviously good enough to make my Top 40 - so it can't be bad.

38. La Roux - In For The Kill [Peak: 4]

The video created by me, which has 1.2 million views!!

Both on this site and real life, La Roux really is marmite. Just like Jedward, who both have the quiffs in common. But, jokes aside, I fell in love with this song, for being so different, to me it actually wasn't irritating, and somebody who was a little unique came out with a fantastic track. She'll be forgotten about by 2010/2011 for her next track/album though, Mika style.

37. Girls Aloud - The Loving Kind [Peak: 6]

This got a lower chart peak, than Untouchable, and I used to think Untouchable was better. However, The Loving Kind, seems to have gotten better as it's gotten older, and is definetly more worthy of a Top 40 placing. Not to mention Nicola's bits are orgasmic.

36. Beyonce - Halo [Peak: 5]

Halo ahead of Already Gone - controversial? No, not at all, I agree. But, I presume this is higher because I have listened to it more - and at the end of the day, just because they sound similar - doesn't make it sound worse, and Halo is one of the more beautiful ballads of the year.

35. Sugababes - Get Sexy [Peak: 1]

The last song by Sugababes 3.0, Get Sexy. Which, in my opinion, was a great single to head out on, as it was fantastic - however, there is one more Suga entry left. But, while Get Sexy was a little bit trashy, it was still truly fantastic, and I don't regret making it #1 earlier this year!

34. Girls Can't Catch - Keep Your Head Up [Peak: 1]

Another #1 to bite the dust comes from yet another girlband, Girls Can't Catch! This song beating Girls Aloud's entries - shocker. For me, didn't deserve to flop in the UK charts, and I'm still a proud fan. Even the video made me like it, bizarrely!

33. Little Boots - Remedy [Peak: 2]

What I said about Little Boots in the New In Town post - she deserves so much better in the UK, at least this made Top 10. Deservedly so, as this was a super duper electro-pop song, and still is, and should've rocketed Victoria into the spotlight.

32. September - Can't Get Over [Peak: 3]

Well, you probably know I love dance - and this is no exception. It even got 12pts in the BJSC final from me, because I liked it so much. Not as good as Cry For You - but, it's still fantastic never the less, and a stellar dance track. More of this, September.

31. Britney Spears - Circus [Peak: 4]

Another peak of #4 for Britney, this probably being the best from the 'Circus' era for me, better than Womanizer, and most deserving of at least a #4 peak! Almost Top 30 for me, and was until last night, but I shifted a song up, but this was great for Britters.
