Same. When I'm doing the thumb ratings, I'm rating the quality of the review. I think the star rating on the side should be our opinion on the single / album.

ok ive changed it so it now says "Rate the Single" or "Rate the Album". It might take some time for the perfect setup but let me know on any other problems and will get around to fixing them.

When someone has posted a new review of something that has been already reviewed I think it would be good to have a number next to where it says 'Review Posts' so people looking will know that there is another one as well.

 

And also I think as more people start posting it would be good to expand the 'Last Comments' box as well, because as time goes on there might be some comments people don't notice.

I have made it so that it now shows the additional number of Review posts on the tab.

 

For comments I need to give this some thought, currently the reviews are ordered by the last Review Post added. So if someone comments on a review it does not bump the review to the top. Should we change this so it does bump it and people are then aware of the comment? This would bring it in line with the forum topics.

Yeh, that's probably a good idea. Would there be anyway of adding a little orange box like there is for forum topics next to the reviews that show that there is unread comments? And maybe a different colour telling people that there has been another review added for that single / album.

thats the plan although this is a fairly big chunk of work so on the todo list ;). Im going to create tabs on the main page to show last comments and last review posts.

When you post a quote the whole post/ comment will not post

When you post a URL the URL is stripped out of the post/comment

 

On my todo list to fix once I have added the comments and review post tabs to the main page :)

I'm finding that quite often once one review has been written for a song and thumbed up five or six times it seems as if barely anybody even looks at the other reviews for that song...

not sure what we can do about this, it shows if there are additional review posts, maybe only show this tab when there are new reviews so people actively see a new tab?

That might be a good idea, especially if the tab or the text on the tab was a different colour (like red) to really alert people!

I just don't understand I just posted a new review for Marina & The Diamonds, and its in the small tab area where its hardly to be seen. I really thought mine would be the main review now.

 

I started a review for Iyaz, so technically my review should be the first as T.I.P.'s review in the Marina & The Diamonds review is still first, but its not as Brayfish has done a review for Iyaz, and it shows Brayfish review as the main review, while my review has shifted to the small tab area.

exactly, the more thumb ups your review has then the higher up it will be!

im going to have (on the main page) a tab to show last review posts as well as the one for comments that is there now. That will give all review posts some exposure!

did some tidying up work on this. You can now see the last reviews on the left bar and can now successfully alternate between the Reviews and Comments tabs on the main page. Plan to integrate this with the front page next as well as add the ability to add YouTube videos.
