I think starting a campaign for every song is tedious to say the least. But i can understand a campaign for Untouchable. It was their ONLY song to miss top 10 and that's all the campaign is for - not to get it to #1.

I wouldn't be surprised if a Spice Girls' Stop campaign reared it's head again  It would be impressive if that did go to #1 then their first 10 or so singles would have gone to #1

These Facebook campaigns - some are fun, some aren't, some will work, some won't. I'm surprised so many of you guys are set against them. But I would say that, I guess, it was one of those that led me here : p
That is the second time today you have said the song is $h!t. It has already been explained why it is doing so well.

Riverside over the vile Joe McElderry anyday.

So, just because you like the song doesnt mean everyone else does, its only my opinion and if you dont like it, dont read it. Simple as.

Ego seems to have just stayed stagnate. Cannot see it making top10 now

Especially as none of the single edits on the EP have made the itunes top 300 yet

I'm gonna make one now:

"Make LoveGame go top 10 in the UK"

Oh God!! Can i bribe you into making it Telephone instead

That Untouchable campaign is ridicolous. Can we not just accept the top 10 record is over? It had to end one day and at least it ended with one of GA weaker efforts...

It's hardly ridiculous. It has a reasonable goal unlike picking a random song (aka The Script one) and trying to recapture RATM's success. And many critics have said Untouchable was one of the best GA songs of all-time - the album version anyway. I don't think the single version was as amazing as the original.

Agreed!

If a GA song should've missed Top 10 then there are better candidates - Long Hot Summer, See the Day or I Think we're alone Now are three candidates.

Untouchable [Album version] is a fantastic song and should've gone top 10!

These Facebook campaigns aren't going to work. If GA fans couldn't get it top 10 the first time with multiple buying why the heck would it go top ten now.

Agreed. It only missed the top 10 due to the crappy era we are in where songs can sell a substantial amount but get poor positions due to bein available at any time. Untouchable and TLK were critical successes yet got the worst two peak positions

The point was you keep repeating how $h!t it is, how many times do you have to repeat yourself.

Fair point but i think it will gain more interest than initially. Casual fans will probably download it on the week (31st Jan?) they are told whereas they probably downloaded it originally when they first heard it regardless of whether it was released that week.

Sorry but I don't think it has a chance at all.

Casual fans are not going to download a song they already have just so it can go top ten people have better things to do with their money in a recession.

I bought it on download and physical there is no chance I will be doing either again.

Or click the IGNORE button on their profile somewhere, meaning you won't ever have to read their posts again. :)

That was for the purpose of a huge campaign to get back the Christmas number one.

Any Girls Aloud fan that thinks this campaign is going to work is frankly deluded.

I'd say the main reason everyone's against these campaigns is that they turn the chart into an irrelevance. How about people do one of two things? Either set up a campaign which backs new music and artists that need support...or just let the public send stuff to #1 on the basis of, you know, actually LIKING it rather than being told to like it.

Yeah the ignore button is fun
