Dog Days Are Over up to #12 :o Florence is more popular right now than she ever has been!
Owl City released! Real version debuts at #38!!!!!!!!!!

Edited by trunkman

How did Justin Bieber get top 5 :puke:

HURRAH for Owl City :cheer:

amazing :o looks like a 1 week stint for Iyaz then because there's no way Owl City will be beaten

To be honest I think the chart has been frozen for a while but great for Owl City so far, #1 next week then maybe? If not it'll definately get there the week after.

Is it me or has Riverside suddenly jumped up? The second version is almost top 10 :o

Wow, Owl City released much earlier than expected. 'Fireflies' could be no. 1 for up to seven weeks at this rate if it sells like hotcakes.

very impressive!

Fireflies peaked at #2 in my personal chart whenever it was entered in Unknown Pleasures all that time ago - it instantly sounded like a hit to me even though I HATE this genre of music usually :o this was well before it became a hit in the US!

Up to number #31 already for Fireflies.

I just bought it, even though I have the album - I have gift card money spare and it appears to be a new UK radio edit which I don't think I've heard :o

Unknown Pleasures was last summer wasn't it? I saw the track progressing up your chart each week - kept off the top by Anna Anbru 'Music Everywhere' (oh GD!!! :drama:  ). It was around early September when Owl City entered the US charts around no. 97 and I posted updates in your personal chart thread. The week it soared to no. 1 in the US was one of the biggest shocks in some time.

A "new" UK radio edit? Does it sound like the video version or has it been remixed to sound more dancey or something?

this wont be good for 'owl city' its out far too early without physical copies, or much video/airplay.

actually were they even planning on bringing out physical copies, only a few thousand anyway.

But still airplay/tv ply is essential for a long track of success.

Wow, go Bieber. Took his time to get up to Top 5.

I actually prefer 'One Time' to the 4 Songs above it .

Katy Perry 'I Kissed A Girl' was no. 1 in the UK for four weeks on download sales before the physical was released. If the track is popular enough, it'll be no. 1 on downloads for a few weeks. We've already seen singles drop from no. 1 the week of physical release. Thing is, there's bugger all else out in the next few weeks that could rival Owl City for no. 1 - assuming it does get to no. 1 that is.

Justin Bieber is going to be huge, bigger then miley, his song is really relevant right now, club songs, dance, upbeat poptracks dominate the charts right now..unfortunately..not much varierty.

yes, I was surprised I loved it so much because I've never discovered something I'd loved so much in Unknown Pleasures before but this song really struck a chord with me - this was before I'd seen his video/image/hype/Postal Service rip off comparisons etc...I just loved the song simple as that and always will do!!! I still prefer Music Everywhere though so no shame there :heehee:

same as the version we know, just a slight edit, like Release Me had a 'UK radio edit' which cut out the best part :drama:
