Maybe because 1. It was HER decision to record it and 2. It's sung pretty well and doesn't have a disgraceful amount of autotune on it like Joe does.

I get that you don't like covers and that you don't like X Factor but please don't be idiotic. Joe has sang the song enough times live to show that it sounds pretty much identical to the recorded version. You can insult the show all you want but do not act like he cannot sing.

Florence + The Machine's Dog Days Are Over and Rabbit Heart (Raise It Up) is at #46 and #47. :o

Wow, Florence is starting off the year with a high!

Agreed, I don't like the song, but I dont think Joe has been autotuned whatsoever

'One Shot' is surprisingly low. Suggests they don't have too many casual fans.
Florence now number 3

:w00t:

This is great! Hopefully Florence + The Machine hold up until next week so they have their first ever top 10 hit. (maybe even top 5, who knows?)

I hope female singers with big voices dominate the charts in 2010.Florence does an excellent version of You Got the Love, so few artists that do covers seem to make much of an effort but she sounds great.I hope Esmee Denters, Alex B, Corinne Bailey Rae do well in the next few weeks also.
What About BBC sound of 2010? it's not too late for this?!

Its got no video.. dont think its had much airplay..maybe the odd play here or there.. so most casual fans probably wont be aware that they even have a new song. It got as high as around 49 I think last week.. It will begin to rise once the video is out, promo starts etc.. & then fans will probably wait until release week.. Im sure Alex was a lot lower than this before Broken Heels video was out

Florence at number 2 on mine :o

Florence #2  I never thought the track will get that high, it could get to #1 its the trailer track to the new BBC1 reality TV series "So You Think You Can Dance" which starts tonight at 6pm.

The track has had so much exposure Gavin & Stacey, Jools Holland and TOTP, its in your face all the time how can you miss it, unless you have been out of the country in the last 2 days.

I have the feeling Florence & The Machine 'You've Got The Love' could end up doing a "Rockstar" getting as high as no. 2 probably next week but beaten to no. 1 by a new release ('Riverside (Let's Go') and probably stall in second place for a couple of weeks.

Have to admit, I never expected 'YGTL' to get such a big boost in download sales. Proves just how powerful TV is - especially like others have already mentioned, the song was used in several different programmes on BBC1 these last few days.

New singles by big artists are anticipated very early, usually, regardless of airplay, videos and promo. Alexandra probably was lower, but 'Broken Heels' isn't going to #1, and 'One Shot' is. JLS don't really need casual fans though, they have enough hardcore followers.

I am sure Broken Heels will get to No 1 and One shot wont.
Florence  TOTP affect
I am sure Broken Heels will get to No 1 and One shot wont.

There are thousands of JLS fans willing to buy another copy of 'One Shot' when it is released, and when they do so much promo that they are everywhere, there will be many more thousands who buy it because they can't get it out of their head.

Next week's #1, Sidney Samson or Iyaz, will probably hold on for a few weeks, meaning 'Broken Heels' will probably peak Top 3 rather than at #1.

Both those songs are dreadful really they are an assault on the ears-Broken Heels is released during a quiet week.

Plus if she gets nominated for the Brit awards especially for her album she could get a #1 album out of it when Jacko kept her at #2 for 5 weeks how cruel was that.

YGTL will stick around now till the end of Feb, with the run up to the Brit Awards, surely she must be a contender for nominations.
