It’s their first release with Robbie since 1995’s ‘Nobody Else’ and continues their winning streak of No1’s that began with ‘Everything Changes’ in 1993. Rihanna has to settle for a No2 debut for her fifth album ‘Loud’, registering the highest sales for a No2 album so far this year. Of her previous four, only ‘Good Girl Gone Bad’ has fared better, reaching No1 in 2007. Bon Jovi’s ‘Greatest Hits’ drops to No3 after two weeks on top, ahead of the next new entry from Bruce Springsteen - ‘The Promise’, a previously unreleased compilation of songs from the 1978 ‘Darkness On The Edge Of Town’ sessions. Pink completes the quartet of Top 10 new entries with ‘Greatest Hits…So Far!!!’ at No8, her first hits compilation from five studio albums released over the past ten years. Rihanna holds at No1 on the Singles Chart for a third week with ‘Only Girl (In The World)’, ahead of non-mover Katy Perry at No2 with ‘Firework’ and Take That’s ‘The Flood’, up from No8 to No3. Westlife claim this week’s highest new entry at No4 with ‘Safe’, their 25th hit single in Ireland. Of the previous 24, thirteen reached the top and a further seven made it to No2, a hit-rate that makes them the most successful singles artist of the decade in Ireland. Rihanna climbs back from No3 to No2 with ‘Loud’, ahead of last year’s Christmas No1 ‘Crazy Love’ which leaps from No10 to No3 for Michael Bublé. The Priests have this week’s highest new entry at No9 with Noël, their third album following their self-titled debut (No1 in 2008) and ‘Harmony’ (No7 in 2009). With most of the big Christmas releases already on the shelves and websites, the only other new entry in this week’s Top 20 is ‘Glee – The Music: Vol 4’ at No12, one of four Glee albums in the Top 40: ‘The Christmas Album’ is at No15, ‘Best Of Season One’ is at No27 and ‘Vol 1’ is at No38. The X-Factor Finalists 2010 take a third week at No1 on the Singles Chart with ‘Heroes’, narrowly ahead of Black Eyed Peas who surge from No10 to No2 with ‘The Time (Dirty Bit)’ after performing on The X Factor last Sunday. Rihanna drops one place to No3 with ‘Only Girl (In the World)’ ahead of this week’s highest new entry from The Saw Doctors with ‘Red Cortina’ at No4. This a charity acapella version of their 1991 song which also reached No4 that year on a double-A side with ‘Only One Girl’. The Christmas perennials make an impact on the Top 20 this week, with The Pogues & Kirsty MacColl up to No11 with ‘Fairytale Of New York’ and Mariah Carey up to No18 with ‘All I Want For Christmas Is You’. They are joined by Coldplay’s new seasonal offering ‘Christmas Lights’ which lands at No15 this week – their first appearance in the Top 20 since ‘Violet Hill’ reached No13 in May 2008. December 17, 201014 yr With just one week to go until the official Christmas No1 is revealed, 2010 X-Factor winner Matt Cardle sets himself up in pole position on the Singles Chart with ‘When We Collide’. In the process he scores the fastest-selling single in Ireland since 2002, when Six broke all records with ‘There’s A Whole Lot Of Loving Going On’. Despite having the second-fastest selling single of 2010 (behind Matt Cardle) and more than 2m YouTube hits so far for their video, comedy hip hop duo The Rubberbandits have to settle for a No2 debut with their very un-festive ‘Horse Outside’. The Limerick lads can, however, claim the fastest-selling download ever in Ireland – and were only denied the overall No1 spot this week by the avalanche of CD sales for Matt Cardle Wow, it doesn't seem Rubberbandits were even close. They could still get the Xmas No.1 next Friday, especially with their Late Late appearance.... who knows!

In the process he scores the fastest-selling single in Ireland since 2002, when Six broke all records with ‘There’s A Whole Lot Of Loving Going On’. Despite having the second-fastest selling single of 2010 (behind Matt Cardle) and more than 2m YouTube hits so far for their video, comedy hip hop duo The Rubberbandits have to settle for a No2 debut with their very un-festive ‘Horse Outside’. The Limerick lads can, however, claim the fastest-selling download ever in Ireland – and were only denied the overall No1 spot this week by the avalanche of CD sales for Matt Cardle. Rihanna climbs from No9 to No3 with ‘What’s My Name’ (feat. Drake) – her fourth Top 5 single in less than six months, and all four are placed in the Top 30 this week. The third new entry comes from Scottish rockers Biffy Clyro at No10 with ‘Many Of Horror’, the original version of Matt Cardle’s ‘When We Collide’. Taken from their platinum ‘Only Revolutions’ album, the song was first released as a single earlier this year when it failed to make the chart. Take That’s ‘Progress’ climbs back to No1 on the Album Chart after a three week break, ahead of non-mover Rihanna at No2 with ‘Loud’ and Westlife, down to No3 with ‘Gravity’. There’s only one new entry in this week’s chart – Michael Jackson’s ‘Michael’ at No18.
