Travie McCoy takes a break from his role as lead singer of Gym Class Heroes, to take the highest new entry this week as his first solo track, Billionaire (feat. Bruno Mars) , enters the chart at No2 while Eminem feat. Rihanna drop from the top spot to No3 with ‘Love The Way You Lie’ . The Top 10 sports two other new entries this week as Flo Rida Feat. David Guetta enters the chart at No4 with ‘Club Can’t Handle Me’ taken from the Step Up 3D film soundtrack and Edenderry’s Frantic Jack secure their best placing in the Single’s Chart to date with ‘Hold On’ claiming the No9 position. This week’s Album Chart sees very little change in the Top 5 as Jedward’s ‘Planet Jedward’ holds on to the No1 spot for a second week. Eminem is stationary at No2 with ‘Recovery’ while Mumford & Sons take ‘Sigh No More’ back up one place to complete the Top 3. Florence & The Machine’s ‘Lungs’ drops one place to No4 while Lady Gaga also remains static at No5 with ‘The Fame’. David Guetta down to No2 after one week on top with ‘Club Can’t Handle Me’. Yolanda Be Cool & Dcup drop a place as ‘We No Speak Americano’ falls to No3 while B.O.B.’s ‘Airplanes’ and Travie McCoy’s ‘Billionaire’ both hold steady at Nos 4 & 5 respectively. The Saturdays have this week’s highest climber and highest entry into the Top 10 as ‘Missing You’ - the first single to be taken from next week’s new album - climbs from No42 to No6 matching their highest showing in the Singles Chart to date – 2009’s ‘Just Can’t Get Enough’ peaked at No6. The Swedish House Mafia feat. Pharrell also make their first appearance in the Top 10 as ‘One (Your Name)’ climbs from No14 to No10. This week’s Album Chart sees little change in this traditionally quiet holiday period with no new entries into the Top 75 and a largely undisturbed Top 10. Arcade Fire hold onto the top spot for a second week with ‘The Suburbs’ while Eminem, echoing his performance on the Singles Chart, turns around and takes ‘Recovery’ back up a place from No3 to No 2 as Jedward’s ‘Planet Jedward’ drops to No3. The rest of the Top 10 remains unchanged from last week with the exception of ‘Glee – The Music Vol 1’ which climbs back up to No8 from No11 and Michael Bublé’s ‘Crazy Love’ which re-enters the Top 10 at No10. This gives them their best Irish placing in the last twenty years, surpassing 2006’s ‘A Matter Of Life And Death’ which peaked at No5 and 2003’s ‘Dance Of Death’ which reached No6. David Gray also gains a top ten new entry with ‘Foundling’ which enters at No9 – not quite a match for 2009’s ’Draw The Line’ which debuted at No2 and his three previous albums which all went straight in at No1. The Saturdays complete the trio of new entries in the top ten entering at No10 with ‘Headlines’ – their best showing on the Album Chart to date: their debut ‘Chasing Lights’ peaked at No34 while last year’s ‘Wordshaker’ halted at No36. This is his sixth Irish hit single, but before ‘Dynamite’ his previous best was a No2 placing for ‘Break Your Heart’ last September. Eminem and Rihanna dip to No2 after three (interrupted) weeks at No1 with ‘Love The Way You Lie’, ahead of Flo Rida and David Guetta who also drop one place with ‘Club Can’t Handle Me’. Brandon Flowers has this week’s highest climber, up from No35 to No4 with ‘Crossfire’ - as with Taio Cruz, his debut last week was on the strength of just one day’s sales. This is his first solo release away from The Killers, and he manages to equal the band’s best showing on this chart – No4 with ‘Human’ in January last year. Highest new entry honours this week go to Cavan five piece Shouting At Planes with their independently-released ‘Hospice’, new at No23. Eminem remains at No1 on the Album Chart for a second consecutive week with ‘Recovery’ – the sixth week on top since release – ahead of Arcade Fire’s ‘Suburbs’ at No2 and Mumford & Sons ‘Sigh No More’ at No3. Eels have this week’s highest new entry at No9 with their ninth studio album in fourteen years ‘Tomorrow Morning’ – their first ever Irish Top 10 album. Eminem and Rihanna hold on at No2 with ‘Love The Way You Lie’, ahead of Taio Cruz whose ‘Dynamite’ drops from last week’s No1 to No3 while Flo Rida & David Guetta drop from No3 to No4 with ‘Club Can’t Handle Me’. X-Factor runner-up Olly Murs is the next new entry, completing the Top 5 with his debut single ‘Please Don’t Let Me Go’. Sky TV’s ‘Must Be The Music’ show contributes two new entries in this week’s Top 30 as Pepper & Piano’s ‘You Took My Heart’ enters at No9 and Daithi enters at No24 with ‘Carraroe’. Katy Perry also tops this week’s Album Chart with her second album release again called ‘Teenage Dream’ out-shining 2008’s ‘One Of The Boys’ which peaked at No10. Eminem drops to No2 from last week’s No1 with ‘Recovery’ while the third spot is claimed by Dublin’s Fight Like Apes with their second album release ‘The Body Of Christ & The Legs Of Tina Turner’ – again a better showing than their debut release ‘The Mystery Of The Golden Medallion’ which entered the chart at No9. Imelda May lands at No1 on this week’s Album Chart with her second album ‘Mayhem’. With her previous release ‘Love Tattoo’ up from No14 to No4, she joins an elite group of Irish artists to feature two simultaneous Top 5 albums – Damien Dempsey, U2 and The Corrs in recent chart history. After debuting at No1 last week, Katy Perry’s ‘Teenage Dream’ now slips to No2, ahead of the next new entry at No3 for ‘Flamingo’ - the first solo album from Brandon Flowers who has three No1’s under his belt as front man of The Killers. The third and final Top 10 new entry is from Manchester synthpop duo Hurts with their debut album ‘Happiness’ at No9. Tuesday’s Mercury Music Prize has an immediate impact on sales for several of the nominees: The xx, who won this year’s award, re-enter the chart at No14 (a new peak for their self-titled debut album), Villagers leap from No33 to No17 with ‘Becoming A Jackal’ and Biffy Clyro climb back to No35 with ‘Only Revolutions’. Katy Perry’s ‘Teenage Dream’ suffers a similar fate on the Singles Chart, down to No2 after one week on top, to be replaced by The Script who debut at No1 with ‘For The First Time’. The lead single from their second album ‘Science & Faith’ (released today), this is their first Irish No1 single – their previous best ‘The Man Who Can’t Be Moved’ stalled at No2 in August 2008. Alexandra Burke has the next new entry at No5 with ‘Start Without You’ (feat. Laza Morgan), her fifth Irish hit single including three No1’s.
