It's not "fans" who voted her off.

Just for your information, she was aswell voted 2nd "best single", 3rd "best album", 3rd "best video" by PJ voters, only beaten by Lady Gaga in all those categories. So it's not that her fans have turned their back to her, it's just that she has a lot of haters. But it always happens with A-list artists, and for example Lady Gaga beats Cheryl in the "Most annoying face" category too (they rank 2nd and 3rd).

Successfull people always get some hate, and especially with Cheryl since she has achieved SO much in the last two years : with GA, X Factor, solo music, etc, and some people just can't deal with her success. Being the "nation's favourite" has a price ;)

I think the reason for all of the Cheryl hate is because Popjustice readers (and the man himself) mostly love the music of Girls Aloud because of the Xenomania writing/production. They worship practically anything Xenomania over there.

 

It's no wonder they resent the Cheryl album, she's doing something distinctly anti-Girls Aloud (aka straying away from their safe sound) so of course they don't love it. I suppose they'd have rather seen her record an album of typical throwaway Xenomania songs, like Sarah Harding has for the St. Trinian's sound track. (which they're no doubt loving over there)

 

I'm not a huge fan of Cheryl's album (I probably voted for her in some of these categories too) but at least she's gone for something you'd never get from a Girls Aloud album. I hope Nadine follows suit.

When Kimberley is on tv doing the presenting she does she is very warm and has a great personality, Cheryl just comes across as vile.

 

IMO the only good song on her album is Parachute the rest is pretty bad.

As has already been mentioned, Cheryl gained lots of support in the polls. She will never be more popular than Lady Gaga in a real music community, but still has people infatuated with her sprinkled everywhere - hence why she came second to Gaga in numerous catergories.

I liked her last year on it but this year there is something that I can't put my finger on she has just came across as cold. I seriously don't think the solo album has helped peoples opinions of her, I think many believe it was a particularly weak effort.

With Cheryl I'm naturally suspicious of anyone who uses Max Clifford as their Public Relations Manager. I'm even more suspicious that she ended up marrying a footballer who had also had a personal sexual scandal who was also a client of Max Clifford (Ashley Cole); so lets just say those two getting together neutralising a scandal that the pair had separately had was quite literally a case of killing two birds with one stone.

 

Then add Cheryl's bitter comments in Q magazine regarding her feud with Lily Allen (yeah right you are Cheryl that Lily's pop career is "down the crapper" and that she will "never forgive" Lily); and the reports back in the early autumn when at some celebrity function she met (future Dr Who assistant Amy Pond) actress Karen Gilliam and reduced her to tears because she was so offended by this impersonation of her from the Kevin Bishop Show.

Wow. It seems me and the Popjustice forums have finally found something to agree on with the dissapointment of the Cheryl abum. Fight For This Love had a decent video though mind, i'd say New In Town should have gotten that one really...She'll no doubt win their stupid £20 award thing later this year anyway.
