Posted January 15, 201015 yr So I thought I would open a thread ! It could be a busy year for GA at this year's Brit Awards... We already know Girls Aloud are nominated for the Memorable Performance award, along with a lot of impressive acts. It's voted by the public though so they may actually stand a slim chance (after all they beat the like of Leona Lewis and Coldplay last year!). They could do a performance then, but I guess that is unlikely. That would be something big for the show though, since the girls are on a break etc etc. Cheryl should get nominated for British Single at least, I don't see how she could not! And that would mean she could perform the song on the actual show (just like GA last year with The Promise). Cheryl could as well get a nomination for British Female and British Album, but for some reason I don't think she will... And Girls Aloud up for British Group maybe (2 singles, the sold out tour, the #1 DVD), but that's very unlikely too. Confirmed nominations Memorable performance - Girls Aloud with The Promise Potential nominations British Single - Cheryl with Fight For This Love British Female - Cheryl British Group - Girls Aloud British Album - Cheryl with 3 words Potential performances Cheryl (as British Single nominee or as guest performer) Girls Aloud (as Memorable Performance or guest performer) What are YOUR predictions? January 15, 201015 yr Predictions: British Single - Cheryl with Fight For This Love British Female - Cheryl British Group - Girls Aloud Edited January 15, 201015 yr by Riverside FM11
January 15, 201015 yr I'm thought that to be eligible you have to have released a studio album in the last year, hence I can't see GA getting nominated for anything else other than their performance Cheryl HAS to be nominated for Best British Single, it is the biggest selling British Single of 2009 and it had lots of airplay, they can't ignore it. I can't see her being nominated for either best female or best album, because neither her or the album where near good enough (I'm a fan, but it was quite clearly a rushed and lazy effort) Also, would Cheryl be considered as "best female" or "best newcomer"? Technically this is her first solo album? As for performances, there's little chance of GA being there unless they win - and that's highly unlikely up againast Jackson and the Spice Girls Cheryl, perhaps, will perform FFTL like GA did with The Promise, however I can imagine the record company wanting to put FFTL to bed as it already overshadowed 3 words Edited January 15, 201015 yr by outlook

January 15, 201015 yr Author the performance vote is online! opens from jan 18th-feb 5th best british single is voted by phone on the night Last year there were about 10 or more nominees for British single, with online votes to evict the less popular ones, and then the 5 remaining songs were voted by phone on the night. Guess it'll be the same this year. And I guess Cheryl could be Newcomer too, tricky one actually!
