Sorry if this question has already been asked about the new rules...

Would you be aloud to send a song by an artist who is in a group that has a forum on Buzzjack?

In what context? If, for example, you were considering a track from Cheryl Cole's album, then that'd be a nayyy, but I think stuff like Michelle Williams et al wouldn't be much of a problem.

Actually, I'll clarify the rules a little. If it's been a year since any of the tracks have done these things (i.e. gone onto the playlist/reached top 5/40/whatever/been released on albums from artists with AFs) then they're permitted. In the case of albums, then shall we say it's allowed if it's been a year since the release of the final single from the album?

I was thinking perhaps of sending Jade Ewen and one of her unreleased tracks.

Oh yeah, that'd be fine.

And we're having our first good result :kink:
So we're taking the contest back to it's roots with these rules? You mean like when Maneater came second? :D

I don't think I've ever said we're taking it back to its roots? I believe that was YOU/a few others who said that bbz :smoke:

Plus, everyone knows that I thought the first few contests were dire. TIS ALL ABOUT XV.

As previously stated I don't believe entries should be limited in any way but I appart from adding a wee bit of confusion over some entries during the confirmation process I don't see these rules having a major negative effect on the competition.

That said I don't think this will help the reducing number of participants in the contest as the majority of people who don't stick around aren't the most original of contestants.

It's more than a dislike. I really f***ing hate it.

It was ass raped on here pre-contest. iirc

Girl and the Robot hadn't been ass-raped pre-contest considering Ben had reserved the song BEFORE he'd even heard it

James, don't nick my thoughts please ¬_¬

Part of me is glad, cos I'm used to finding entries and now the obvious ones are banned hopefully I and others who find unknown songs will have a headstart for a contest or two whilst people find the best way to find new music :P.

Agreed, i remember that time actually! The only 'hype' it all caused is that everybody wanted to hear the new Robyn song. :o

is there a rule to protect the songs that you have it on your national thread from stealing when reservation opens???

That is why I now don't even pre-announce them.

I've even taken to keeping them out of my Personal Charts for a week or two if necessary.

Entries i fancy to send in the future are usually the ones that other people aren't interested in :nocheer:
I never enter my entries in my chart until I have them reserved tbh
