January 22, 201015 yr Is the Little Boots album good? I have to say I was disappointed with La Roux. Very thin, early 80s rubbish apart from the singles. Little Boots is definitely influenced by the 80s, but the overall sound it just more....cinematic I reckon.... La Roux showed a bit of promise to begin, but a combination of a rather weak album overall and Elly's absolutely stupid, brainless interview quotes just really grated with me tbh.... I mean, going so far as to say "some women deserve to be beaten up" is really just absolutely out of order, and would be pounced upon if a male pop star had said it.....
January 22, 201015 yr Surely it'll be a bit strange if Florence does indeed pick up all 3 awards she is the bookies favourite to get. She's had a sucsessful year theres no doubt but to pick up Album, Breakthrough and Female will surely be going to far...

She's had a sucsessful year theres no doubt but to pick up Album, Breakthrough and Female will surely be going to far... Yeah, especially seeing as how she's rather over-rated, IMO... She's doing nowt that the likes of Siouxsie and Kate Bush didn't do before her.... And a lot better too.... I mean, dont get me wrong, it's a solid enough album, but believe me, if she'd been around 25 years ago, she'd barely even register compared to the best Female acts back then....

And also because Bat for Lashes exists.

What is wrong with sweeping the boards, as they used to call it?
January 23, 201015 yr Do you think awards are handed out evenly? What is wrong with sweeping the boards, as they used to call it? Duffy 'swept the boards' last year ... so no ... equilibrium doesn't feature. It just depends on who is 'flavour of the month'. Norma
January 24, 201015 yr I'm starting to think there could be an "upset" and Pixie could actually win an award or two... I dunno why I'm feeling that, but I just am LOL :drama:

January 24, 201015 yr The upset should be that Animal Collective or Bat for Lashes should win the awards that they have been nominated for.

I'd agree with every single one of your choices ... but the MJ one only for the fantastic cameo of Jarvis! Its the one I've voted for. Mind you ... like the 'best single in 25 years' category a few years ago ... this is the 'mickey mouse' category this year. Shame on The Brits though ... for dropping the most important category ... Best Live Act ... and denying Take That or Muse for another well deserved Brit. Norma
